Isn't that the bushido viking? I could be mistaken but it looks like inferno's first tarantula creation then he made the two that I got in my sig.

That is the usual Tarantula milling, with an UL frame and thin tray, and SCM and Mightymax..

Yeah, thats the standard mill from tatantula.
The Hpr area, solenoid area, rounded butt crack, short top tupe, rounded 3 tubes.
Pretty plain annodizng too. Has some scuffing on the bottom tube.
I'd say 600-650 for it?
If your going to spend 650 and up. I think DeathOfAllThings has the nicest viking up for sale right now. Black/orange fade swirl featherlite. Its pretty amazing looking.

THE bushido Viking is owned by atach still, iirc. It's gloss black.
This one looks very similar to the bushido, and has been for sale for months now, I think the owner initially was pretty adamant about getting his asking price of 1500 for it.

Getting 1500 right now for a viking looks grim.
Most stock vikings are going for 250-300 right now. The mill cost 250. Anno for one color is anywhere form 80-120.
Granted some of them have upgraded parts and frames ect ect. But you won't ever get all your money back.

Yeah, resale has been creeping down, especially for the more common styles. But I've received offers recently for some of mine that will tell you otherwise.
You can pay for a stock Viking and get dc to mill it and anno it for sub $1k fairly easily.
But vikings and excals touched by tarantula carry a higher premium and almost always have.

I don't see why. His price for milling was among the lowest. He also said maybe in the future he can start milling again. Which will only drop the re-sale lower for the tarantulas.

Yeah, its similar to what the 09 SFL is going through. Great quality markers, semi-rare, no longer being made even though there is demand for more and they are 'projected' to start production again (which has been a rumor for a long while now), yet they literally lose no resale value from their retail prices.
I think it's simply put: demand is there, supply is not. You can get DC milling whenever you want. The collectors who buy AKA guns, like any other old school platform, will pay more for something that isn't readily available anymore.

This was the one I had milled, but I wanted the long top tube so I traded it to SkyGuy.

Like i said, that was poor communcation on my part with Tarantula. If he ever offers milling again. I told you i will pay for any viking or Excalibur to get milled.
I already feel bad enough about it...-__-

Thats similar to the Bushido one I built, but it had the no-rise feedneck, 2 liter, and blacked out screw kit. I also don't think A-tach is ever going to get rid of it though.
As for prices of tarantula it all kinda varies. When it was first offered they were $$$$ and hard to come by. Once Marc started milling a lot more they started to drop and some you could even find for under 1k. Now that he's not milling again (as of now) they have gone up yet again in price.
A lot of things people don't put into the price of guns is the amount of time it takes to build a gun. Two of mine took over a year to build (711's blood splatter/hitman and Bushido). So sure you could pay around 1,200-1,400 to completely build a gun to your liking but you're also going to have to wait around 8 months to finally get it though.
As for that one I would offer him around 1,100-1,200 personally depending if it had RT valve and yakuza board (which it doesn't look like it has). Some upgrades that it's missing that would increase the price even more would be if it had the no-rise feedneck, 2 liter (even though most people say it's not a big difference), acid trigger, and if it had a nicer anno (something more custom to it).

I agree with inferno's pricing point if the tarantula had all the bells and whistles. But I just don't get why the aka market as a whole would ever go down in value? From what I've seen eventually every listed aka product gets picked up and pickings are slim to begin with am I right? I don't know, I can see the arguments for why but most times I shake my head in disagreement. Guess I'm too enthusiastic.

I think this thread helped decreasing the value of AKA's without good reasons.

I'm only going by what i see items sell for.
If it was up to me. Every dc or tarantula gun would sell for the 900+ range.
Sadly people are selling dcs for 500 on the forums. People are selling stock 04s for 240 on ebay. I saw a tarantula sell privately for 550.
Then again, can't expect them to hold value for ever. 7-8 years old these guns are now. Most new players want the newest model because they have to have whats new and plaster "hk" all over everything...Sigh.

Meuh, you are so 2008..
Sellers hurting for quick cash shouldn't be the new value.
Old nice guns fetch the money. Many old cockers just sold for over 1k lately..
