you're only asking for trouble washing it. primer is porous.

Any suggestions on a good wax I can buy in local stores? I have been using meguir's liquid carnuba wax but was wanting to try something different.
Autoglym HD if you're lucky. Walmart might still have a box or two sitting on the shelf marked down significantly if you want to give that a shot.

eek that;s gonna be a ***** to keep looking nice, why not just have it sprayed with satin paint?
Because airbags.
I kinda wanted to finish all the bodywork proper, then get it sprayed gloss black towards next fall, I didn't have the money or time this year but it was in two colors with a primer *** when i got it so something had to be done, we scuffed it up real good, degreased and tacked and just shot the whole thing. Only cost was materials which came out being probably what rattlecans would have costed.

This sort of falls under this thread.. but I recently got my hood and fenders painted. The body shop just wet sanded everything and will buff it when its all bolted back on the car(being that its alot easier for them.) Not a big deal since Im waiting for my bumper and some other plastics to get painted too.
I recently noticed this imperfection on my hood. It almost looks like something got on it and ate through the clear coat or something. Or im not sure if its just from the wetsanding.
I know its really hard to tell from a picture but will this blend when the body shop buffs the car?

That looks like a paint imperfection, not something that comes from wetsanding. I'd take it back to the body shop
