does this Platinum package seem like a pretty good deal? Is there stuff any of you would do on top of all the things this guy does, or anythings he does that you do not do?

It depends on your area. Around here I'd do that for around $200.

It also depends on the quality of products he uses. 6 hours seems like a lot for that kind of detail, is he polishing by hand or with a random orbital?

On top of that, anyone who feels the need to trash talk 'other' detailers...work can/should/does speak for itself. I don't need to trash talk other people, because the work I do and the word-of-mouth is more than enough proof.

did I miss something?

This week is awesome. 70's and sunny all week, and I'm busy. Currently working on a website/logo/business card/brochure redesign as well.

Some of his descriptions talk about how terrible the other detailers are. Don't get me wrong, talk yourself up. But talking down about other people in a business ad is bad form.

Plus...$80 for headlight resto? f'realz?

We just took in a 'vert mustang on trade. **** it. Lambo doors. One doesn't work.

Roush supercharger installed. All the bolts on it are rusted, meaning not SS, which leads me to believe hack job.

Gigantic vinyls on the hood that say 'DOOMY II.' Conveniently, under the vinyls is cancer rust. Carpet dash mat with 'DOOMY II' on it, velcro-taped onto the dash.

I told them I'm not doing it. It's a complete POS, impossible to clean, and everything on it screams hack. The cancer rust was just painted over before the vinyls were put on. Who does that? Hacks.

Sorry if this has been asked, but is there a good product to use to dye the floor carpet in a car? More specifically, I want to change it from a light tan to black

We use SEM colorcoat at work. Most dealerships in town use the same.

It's pretty expensive without a volume dealer, though.

I don't know where I put my gallon jug of FK425, so I went to the store to buy a bottle of some Meg's quick detailer to hold me over in the mean time. Saw the Mothers Aluminum polish and thought I'd give it a try on my extremely dull strut tower bar.

Holy hell, why didn't I try this years ago. Just an easy wipe with a microfiber cloth brought most of the shine back. I stopped washing my exhaust tips a while ago. The carbon builds up extremely fast, and I noticed I couldn't get it off anymore with just soap and a wash mitt (I don't use the same wash mitt for my paint, don't worry). Sure enough, a few minutes wiping the tips with the Mothers stuff and it doesn't look like I have single walled tips anymore.

Dude. All I've been getting lately is black cars with horrible water spots. This one is really, really ****ing terrible.

The hood came out pretty well, but if you look from the right angle, they're still slightly there. Gonna have to be wet sanded. Took me 2-3 hours for just the hood. The rest of the car isn't nearly so bad, though.

The best part...it's an expedition EL. ****ing huge.
