I put some cheap wax on it for ****s and giggles and noticed there's red paint on the waxing pad I was using(the car is red), it's not chips or anything but the pad is slowly turning red.

Is the clear coat 100% gone?
Is this on your foxbody?

It's a single stage paint if it is. Mine is the same way. The only thing I've found to really help it is meguiars #7.

Who all is detailing today? 6 beers down and I'm ready to wax. I've never clay bar'd this car before and nothing came off haha. That's good reassurance.

I need to upgrade products though. Been working with UP/UC combo and I have always been happy with it for the price. I usually finish it off with a gold class wax or griots best of show wax.

I have a black non matallic paint and want the reflection to be a bit more sharper. Thinking about maybe trying blacklight v7 and trying that. Any suggestions on some upgrade products?

Wait you clayed a black car and did not buff? I would love to see the results.

V7+blacklight is nice, but for all the time/work you put into the process, it sure doesn't last very long.

Some of the absolute worst water spotting I've ever dealt with.

Gettin' there:

And done:

Took 2 passes of water spot/acid rain remover, 2 passes of 85, 1 pass of 105, one pass of 205, and one pass of dark paint finishing polish.

UGH.

I have always used sandpaper and a plastic polish to finish.
