Looking into Pump Markers... Too Many Choices
I finally played pump this weekend and fell in love. I am going to get rid of my 2 electros to pick a pump up. I am trying to decide between an old cocker with ccm pump kit, ccm t2, ccm s6, ccm s6.5, or the empire sniper. I know the old cocker would be cheaper but I like the looks of the others. Than you Zepulkinator for letting me use your gun this weekend.

how much are you looking to spend?
for a first pump, i always suggest pump'd cockers. they're a great platform to get to know the game...plus, you'll meet a lot of nice people if you do them right. seems like old cocker guys are always the chattiest.
but it sounds like you're more into halfblock types. the empire sniper would probably be a good choice to start with. they're very solid guns and won't break the bank.

All pumps will pretty much perform the same. The difference will be preference in things such as half vs full block, pump stroke, open vs stock class etc. You said you were interested in the looks so just choose what you can afford and go with it.

i would sell the whichever gun will net you more money. it's nice to have to be able to switch to some more fire power sometimes.
purchase a cheap cocker pump and upgrade it as you see fit after playing with it. you'll probably be surprised at how little money it'll take to get a sniper shooting fantastic. (barrel, reg, springs)

Go CCM. T2 or S6.5. If you decide you don't want to play pump anymore, they have great resale so you don't lose much like you do with other markers.

What did he let you borrow?
I have found that everyone that i let use my t2, who eventually buys a pump is super dissapointed in the performance of the other markers. not that they are bad but its not what they were expecting.

Buy ANY gun used and you don't even have to take a lose, could even make a profit.

If you liked his orracle. You should just buy that. It seems to be really nice. Has everything you would want/need out of a pump marker and is pretty to boot.

just my 2 cents, but 385 to 420 isn't a huge difference, 420 is about retail for empire sniper, and you get a BNIB performance pump marker, with all the bells and whistles that most people eventually spend money on. it is quite a nice set of features imho.

I agree about buying the orracle...personal opinion custom built cockers shoot better than ccms...buying a gun with everything u want is cool...but nothing beats having ur own parts and building a gun just how u like it

I play with a Sanchez Machine SM1(love it)and it's a good pump for the price... As for me, it's more of a comfort issue.. I'm not saying the sm1 is uncomfortable,it's nice.. but I rather shoot a pump that is Comfortable to my liking and not having the mentality of having a high-end pump and think your a badass just for having a kick-*** pump.. All pumps give you the same distance and accuracy.. People just need to play with their barrel kits matching bore size with paintballs. It's all about personal preferences
I've been having my eyes on the CCM t2, s6, and s6.5...
Please post up a review on this pumps

Personally, I got a ccm S6 as my first pump and I like it. I dont have a problem w/ half blocks so a lighter 6.5 or T2 would be my choice.

I just bought a cocker sniper and other than a reg it was all basic. I will know I will drop another $200 on this pump over time and thats fine with me. For me I had a CCM pump, but felt like it was awkward playing with it because it was not the same similar set up as my marq.

I like pump... The End!
|
I was the same way. I got a pump and bam that was it. I spent a lot of time and $ building pumps and collecting parts. Mostly the latter. In the end i would look at my creations and realize everything was CCM. That was when i started buying CCM markers.
In the end i liked their aftermarket parts so much I'd ave dropped close to the same money on em as getting an S6 and not have the same fit, finish and resale value.
What i have started to do is find a pump i want( most recently S6) and buy it used. Why used? Because i know if i play hard i wont be heart broken if i scratch the anno by actually playing with it. I like CCM's but i also think Empire brings a lot to the table for the price range. I like Productions markers because i suck at tuning and have bad luck w/ custom ones.

The most fun I have ever had playing pump is with my own Autococker sniper.
I'd recommend getting a nice condition body and a decent pump kit.
A good pump kit at a decent price is the Team Hooptie pump kit W/ Hitman mod if you want it.
Only around $29.99.
