Smile Do the pros wear padded under jerseys??

i was wondering if the pros like dynasty wear padded under jersys like the planet eclipse overload jersey, or the dye performance top. It seems like they do cause their shoulders are always alot bigger then they should be. And if so would you recomend that i should purchase one?

It would make sense is they did. Their sponsors (like empire) make chest proctectors and according to this
http://www.ansgear.com/Empire_Chest_...tor_s/2139.htm
The teams kinda help make these products with their opinions.

Naturally one would assume that since they're sponsored by empire they would wear just about anything and everything empire, not to mention it would give them even more advantage in the game(evn though they probably dont need it lol).

I'm actually thinking of picking up a chest protector. Kinda tired of looking like a cheetah once they start to scar...

If my knowledge is correct, they used to be able to wear them, but now they are deemed "illegal" in the Pro Division. I know I saw plenty of professional players using them at PSP events a few years ago.

that's funny, maybe they don't want to give the player the feeling of invincibility. or maybe the extra pads would contribute to more bounce.

dang seriously? i don't want to wear it if it gets you penalties?! i know i don't play anything near PSP (i play pump) but our tournaments adopt a lot of the rules and regulations made by the big organizations like PSP.

anyone know about it being illegal in NPPL?

I'm not too concerned about the weight, more so the heat added by the extra padding.

also, I've heard that you're only allowed 2 fabrics on your body (ex: jeresy and undershirt). that's what i go by when i play now. a chest protector would replace my undershirt.

its the jerseys they wear. if you look at the newer dye jerseys, the padding on them are abundant. no, pros dont wear them.

most players wear them for the bounce factor anyways, so in that case I could see the psp deaming them illegal

I just ordered the eclipse 2011 overload padded under-jersey, I'll let you guys know what i think when it arrives, and I get pelted ia few. I also picked up the neck protector for it as well. It looks well designed though and has been getting good reviews. I remember when the first "chest protectors came out, those things kwere horrible. I'll keep you guys posted.

I played this weekend with a guy wearing the empire BT padded chest protector and I could not for the life of me seem to get my paint to break on him. I couldn't believe it. I was getting uber ticked off cause I literally would watch a string of 4-5 balls in a row bounce off of him. Of course we were only shooting 240fps but still. That stuff really protects against elimination IMO.

ive had the 2010 proto protector for a year now, and i just got the pe overload protector. if you read review these things are not for ouch protection. believe me, ive been shot in every pad, and it does not take a single bit of the sting out of it. it DOES give you insane amounts of bounce. i mean insane amounts. thats probably why they arent top tier tourny legal, because you can literally shrug off 2/3 of the paint that hits your torso.

oh and if your worried about comfort, like dude at the top said, if youve ever worn an under armor shirt, add padding and thats it. pretty good imho. stops movement. i dont tend to wear a jersey over it most times cuz its just excess fabric plappin, but the overload jersey will work well as a stand alone jersey in and of itself

When we were sponsored by proto in 2009 they sent us a couple under jerseys that never came to the public. But it wasn't heavy or uncomfortable.
Prosmwear knee and elbow pads. In some events there mandatory

Just to set the record straight.... you are allowed to have 2 layers max, most of the padded undershirts, like the dye one, are considered a layer in itself, so you can still wear it with your jersey but you cannot wear any other t-shirts, cut offs, or otherwise.

Many pros do wear them under their jerseys for the bounce factor, many prefer the style of a long t-shirt, but since the leagues now require to you tuck in, many went back to the under armor.

At least for PSP the rules are pretty clear. The undergarment can not contain padding and padding is defined as any layer thicker than a standard 100% cotton T-shirt.
