is there a special program the designers will use to do the concept art for for the interiors of cars? or are some of the concept drawings actually drawings?

I've heard of it being done three ways.

1. All computer.
2. Sketch the basic idea, expand on it with the computer.
3. All by hand.

Autodesk has a ton of software for that, as do most companies who have 3D modelling software.

It also depends on what you consider "actually drawing". Pen tablets are becoming increasingly common across the media, drafting, and design areas of many industries.

If your concept drawing is good enough to catch the eye of your target audience, the media it is presented on probably won't make a huge difference.
