That cowl, in all honesty isn't terrible. You should see some of the ones around here, Good ol' Wisconsin cars.

Yeah, it scares me. I feel like if I stamped on the rusty part my foot would go through. We gotta pick up a drill bit for all the spot welds first. What year are you workin on?

66, It's not too bad... Just leave like a 1 inch overhang to lay the new pans down... Drill holes in the new pans and plug weld along the frame and anywhere else you can really. Then, seam seal it up and she'll be good. To be safe, I also stitch welded the pans together because it amazed me the entire factory floor had 5 plug welds. That's it... So.... It being a unibody I figured why not just stitch what I Can together...
Didn't quite get a picture of my pans cut out... but yeah I just cut em out... Nothing special...

Little cold galvanize just on the fresh welds...
Seam seal on the bottom and undercoat... it'll be hard telling I ever replaced them.

Yep, Then just did fine cutting with a little air saw.... Just left about a one inch overhang where the new pan met the old floors... Takes a little trimming here and there to get them to fit just right but... It's not that bad.
And, Chucks that's where it's at man!

To repair the lip that goes from the firewall to the cowl, I've welded a piece of angle iron all the way down... So it's nice and study I'm not going to do the one piece but I am going to do a monte carlo bar.

I swear my dads car is bad luck.
First off we took it to our friends brother to do the upholstery. He had the car for 5 months. He messed up the headliner, one of the front seats, and the lower half of the back seat. So now we've bought/are having to buy new ones.
After the second new headliner gets put it right, we take it to the glass shop. The glass goes in no problem, but they go to put the trim on and everytime they try to snap it down, it just bends. Damn repop trim is too thin..But luckly they are buying the new trim
/end rant

shemp: your car apears to be a convertible, make sure to be careful with that seat crossmember. It is different than a coupes & if its made will be expensive.
