I'll be building a new motor for it starting in a month or two.

you can get a larger size oil drain plug for those that are stripped/loose.
I finally got my fiberglass hood , has the 66 shelby scoop in it. also ordered up the disc brake / power brake conversion kit, probly will get the rack conversion in a couple months, the visa card has taken a beating already

This is my 1969 Mach1
Before & during restoration. Still working on it.
this gives a idea of the extent of replaceing the front structure. Thats been done for couple years.
Its a monstor of a project. Everything forward of the firewall has been replaced. Except the frame rails. They were still solid.. Everything wasnt rotted. It was just all twisted & cracked from the motor. Old racecars never lived nice lives.
The radiator support came out of a 69 coupe, shocktowers out of a 69 Boss 302 (still have the boss vin on them gotta remove it before Im done). Ive also replaced both fron torque boxes, both floors, & rebuilt the drivers A-pillar.
Things to do still are replace both rear framerails, Shock mounting crossmember, Trunk floor, both rear quarters, Both rear wheel housings & whatever else is found along the way.
When done it will have a white interior & Im not sure about paint but Im leaning towards gulfsteam aqua. The motor is a heavily built 351C out of a 70 mach 1 it will be backed by a 90 Tbird SC AOD hopefuly it will survive for awhile. Planning on using it as a summer Daily driver once done. 80 Miles a day.

depends on the car/rarity , have seen it on a few, looks different right away.
if you plan on keeping it why not, might hurt a future sale tho.
myself i would not do it

haha a 1966 Mustang theres merely 466k made.... Haha No see my drip rails are damaged as is... so it'd be just as much work fixing them as it is.... removing them and going for the smooth sleek look.

well depending if yours is a K code Gt or something, i wouldnt do it, my 66 is not rare so it doesnt matter, if your molding/drip rail is messed up why not i guess. there was a 66 at a car show withouth the drip rail stainless molding and it looked out of place.
post pics of it so we can see

I argee I would depend on the car & the overall look your trying to get.
On a otherwise stock car I think it would look odd. On a car that is highly modified & updates it may look ok.

well progress has pretty much stopped on ours. Has been at the upholstery shop for 3 weeks waiting to get the headliner and glass put in. You would think someone would want to finish the job so they could get paid, but oh well it's been like this for just about everything.
oh and the engine still isn't in.
