look at this ****. This is what you have to tear the door down to to change out the regulator.

that isnt even bad, the door card comes off in literally 5 seconds and the entire frame unbolts in no time. quit complainin

The clutch disk needs to be replaced in my gti, I was quoted from $450 to $1400.

Anyone priced the same work? I just need labor, I'm using a southbend stage 3 clutch disk for a replacement to hold the extra power.

wiring harnesses for the speakers, speaker has to be removed, sound deadening material, lighting harnesses for the puddle lights, wiring harnesses for the power windows, power mirrors.. all in all it was about a 3 hour process, which is far better than the mess that is putting the front end in the service position just to change the accessory belt:

for you guys talking about trans fluid: don't do it if it's over 75k and never been done before. if you do it at 75, do it consistently at the same interval.

it's not that the fluid is more viscous, it's that as the fluid breaks down parts wear faster. all the metal bits and clutch bits stay in the fluid. (don't think visible stuff, i'm talking small enough to pass through the filter). you drain the fluid, all that stuff goes with it, suddenly with new fluid there's not enough friction inside the transmission for things to work.
