so what about the other 95% of ballers out there that dont get a great deal on paint? .50 cal can be a nice ease your way into the expense of playing paintball.
in my area field paint is $47 a case

the fun factor of .50 cal cant be beat

i like the naysayers that are so against the use of it because the are so stuck to traditional .68 cal. if everyone in the sport thought that way the sport would have died long ago.

Now very few companies have actually tried to better the sport in one way or another and I applaud Kingman AND GI for bringing a cheaper alternative back and bringing paintball to so many countries that dont allow .68 cal paintball.

I dont know, I have more respect for a company that tries to shape/expand the sport of paintball fro the better instead of other companies that just rake in the $$$

sure they are a biz they are going to need $. They make money and somewhat define the sport of paintball unlike so many other companies that have the sport define them.

Hell even PE has a .50 cal kit and that should speak to how not a joke .50 cal is.

Oh and the .50 cal is better for the field and environment too because less fill is used. Give me a break, the only disadvantage to .50 cal is long distance accuracy and break-ability at long distance. thats it done deal.
If a player cant see the purpose or how useful .50 cal is and can be, then they arent a true paintball enthusiast at all.

not all tourney players get paint sponsors. Im sure "pro" level get free paint but not local and regional tourney players get paint.

I think 50 cal could catch on, but in the same notion it could fail in a few years and not many people would be to devastated. Cheaper paint is a plus for me. Does anyone know if there's an efficiency difference? Get more shots from a tank with 50 cal? Right now for me personally ill stick with 68 cal and maybe get a 50 cal marker someday.

I just found out that Nelson makes .50 cal too.
It may fade but companies like GI and Kingman will keep it going. I recall GI saying something about it being a great round for tactical/mag fed markers instead of the very small .43 cal

Im not totally sure but i shot about 1000 balls with about 1250 psi drop on my 68/4500 tank. very very efficient to say the least.

dam i have like 5 cases of paint, I should make a vid of this stuff.

is .50 really that much cheaper? And why not just increase fps so it flies farther?

Can you PLEASE NEVER put paint in the freezer and bring it to a field?

Freezing paint makes it more brittle, and more likely to break in the breach/loader/pod/etc.

Trying to freeze paint is a horrible idea - as the poster above pointed out, it makes the shell extremely brittle & screws with the viscosity of the paint - meaning it'll likely corkscrew (definitely not fly straight).

im not one to get into this ridiculous debate all i know is that i take my nano out in the field and have a blast i get eliminations and have a good time doing it with the different playing style when i get bored of that i take out my g4 and do the same with that, its about going out there and having fun having options and enjoying your weekend everything else is nonsense. i took my nano out this weekend and there were a ton of people hating on me and that find when the game started and held back 10 people pushing on one side of the field they all to give it a try.. its not a take over its just and option its like having multiple barrels that you use for different occasions and style of play and fields. why limit yourself to one stock barrel when you can get a freak or get a pinokio and hold more paint its about options and giving player something new to chew on.

I normally shoot an EGO8 or a Macdev Clone; the weight is spread out further. On the GI50 however, the entire weight of the marker is further back. Not to mention, the barrel reminds me of the stainless steel freak backs. It's a tight package, it's just heavy/slightly bulky for someone who is use to being a frontman playing speedball.

oh, and there's nothing ironic with that statement. It may be funny, but it's not ironic. Irony would be me complaining about the weight, and then shooting a shoebox shocker with a scuba-tank.

If you're playing around in the woods (just for fun) and you already have a .68 setup, then yes. It's worth it.
