Lol, I really don't care at all, I just felt like creating an awkward situation. I might as well be homeschooled too I guess.

Hi guys. Quick question. I just picked up a 70-200 f/4L lens and it'll see a good amount of usage in paintball. It has no UV filter yet though. Should I just pick up any cheap one for like $5 such as this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Unkown-67mm-UV.../dp/B002CVTVQ4

Or is it worth spending around $20 for, what I would assume to be, a "better" UV filter? Such as:

http://www.amazon.com/Hoya-HMC-UV-Fi...67624&sr =1-3

Don't buy a filter at all, they lower your image quality, and your front element is a lot stronger than a filter.

5DC = $800-900

17-40 =$600

If you want the filter for protection of a paintball, it's counterproductive. If the filter breaks, the glass from the broken filter could harm the front element.

Okay. Well then do you guys suggest really just not getting one at all? And if my lens were to have a direct hit, like this one (lol):

Without a UV filter, would it be okay?
