Are AIR ASSAULT Teams and players really "banned"?

If so, seems a bit Childish considering the above passage I found on the website. While the tension between AAF and Vintage is pretty well known in the community, that would take it to an entirely new low.

I am assuming they really are banned since AA is now hosting their own tournament at the same time.

As usual, no response from Vintage or VPS.

Is it also weird that all the players on Vintages NXL team are playing in their own tournament series?

I can't speak for Aaron or the store/field but as a player of the team. It's my understanding that they are not "Banned" but arnt going to be welcome with open arms that's for sure. Their past actions, behavior, and arrogance towards Vintage in previous VPS events was the turning point. Smashing trophies, cheating, and rude comments towards other players made people not want to come back. Many throw together teams want to actually have a chance to win a tournament, I have spoken with many walk on players and they said now that AAF is not playing they want to enter a team. That is what this sport is all about, growing paintball and making it fun for people so they come back.

1. From talking to some of the AAF players, while they haven't been "Banned", Their APPA Registration continues to be returned. With not explanation attached.

2. While I can agree that some AAF players can have some sense of arrogance. they aren't bad guys once every one relaxes, Example: At the last Advanced Play at AA, one of the players wasn't really talking to the rest of us. But towards the end of the night, he opened up quite a bit and was joking around like the rest of us.

3. Cheating? Personally, I've never witnessed a AAF player cheat, and thats quite the accusation to be throwing around, do you have any evidence to back it up?

4. If this is all about growing the sport, both fields don't have much to stand on. Air Assault, along with the other Paintball Minnesota fields have done more harm then good by switching the caliber of their rentals. And Vintage has failed to give any official statement to the public or AAF on why they won't be allowed to play. Hell, even a private message along the lines of "Hey, We never really get along at these tournaments. To stop the cycle of flaming on the forums, we arn't going to allow AAF this year" is better then this iron curtain bull****, and I'm not even going to bother diving into their reaction to poor Facebook reviews.

You know what would really grow the sport? if Vintage, AAF and MNPRO pooled their resources and hosted a series together. But no, everyone just runs around Pbnation and Facebook, talking **** about eachother.

Sounds like VPS made a "safe place" for those triggered by winners.

Fun FACT. If you have ever won a VPS D4 tournament you are banned. Why? AAF has a clean sweep.

Did they really let their home field team win their own tournament? Or is that just rumor?

I don't think there's a relationship to that Ignition. Probably a new team.

THREE (3) of those Ignition players also played NXL Dallas this year under the Vintage banner, but i'm sure there is no connection there.

Point?

You have several players that played your event that played Dallas with you and/or ran entire series with you last year?

Jamie, Lucas, Austin, Blake, Chase just to name a few in the short rosters I overlooked for your last event held. Lets not dig the archives because you won't like the findings of that.

Everybody involved in this is killing the sport more than anything. Grow up and get over the bull****. <-- That is to all parties involved.

Hopefully this will all smooth over and teams won't be forced to pick what event they want to attend and can attend both making both parties money and growing the scene.

I dug the archives. Who? Only one of those above mentioned players was even at Dallas. They also didn't win their OWN event a month afterwords. Seems shady at best to me.

People can say it was shady or rigged all they want. My team lost to them in finals and they beat us fair and square. Not once was there any indication during the entire tournament of anything biased. Just my opinion though.

All, just to be clear I meant the Ignition from 2004 that was a Division 2 team from Minnesota that was featured in Paintball2Xtremes. I didn't know there was a connection between current fields. Sorry.

All of those dudes would have played VPS 2 weeks ago if they weren't BANNED from it.

Bottom line, Tholey can't afford to give out $10K in guns every year to me. So he took AAF off the table and had his own guys win it.

Paintball is no different than anything else in this world, you want the truth? Follow the money.
