thank you christian for taking the time to answer the questions that people have about the board and grips. it says something about the company when they are willing to put their necks out on the line to explain their products when potential customers raise questions

Why don't you guys use the mico B port instead of the mini B.
Micro B ports are the same ones that most modern cell phones use making chargers more easily available in a crunch.

The bolded part looks like a jab at Bob Long. Nice.

Question:
"* Memory-free recharging, saves a significant expense related to buying and replacing 9volts over the life of the battery."

As far as I know, Li-ions still have memory issues..? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I own a G6R and love it. At the price point, I personally do not think it is worth it for a first run product. Pretty cool features and such, but I am interested in these batteries..

I have to say im not really diggin the grips either because the grip frame on the g6r is so then that it needs that extra inch or two of rubber to make it more comfortable in the hands. Without that its gonna feel like your holding a piece of paper or something.

Still, for some, the screen makes it entirely worth it. But I get ya, it's not worth it to you. Just wanted to make the point there is actually a lot more there than "just" a screen.
How does your board provide "better performance" over stock?

If you need a board to tell you when to lube your gun, or how to shoot/when to shoot. Then you should really be spending your money on other things beside a $200 board, like more playing time...

The first thing people at the office said when they saw these was they like the way the board/screen looks in these better than the other grips. Although we still use the other style grips and have some coming in the pipeline for another board in a couple days.
The previous (and still current) OLED grips are all microinjection with a piece of metal in it. The only thing these lack is the wrap around, as they are rubber panels.
The reason for that is because a lot of the factories that used to make the microinjection for our grips have closed down, and the process is surprisingly difficult to do at the right price point. We've spent thousands to get this "right" and even then I think it could still be better in every case. With the wrap around, we were running into continual issues in protoyping of one half fitting perfectly, and the other half not fitting, etc. We even have hundreds of production order grips lying around that we paid for as finished production that are just crap and we had to start all over on. It's a fun process! But we like rubbery materials better than the alternatives.

I would love to see a true injection molded grip but they will cost 15k for the tooling before you pay for your first grip. There's no way to do that for just selling this small amount of aftermarket boards unless you want to see $500/board prices. We actually did manage this for the NT OLED boards, as it's a very nice injection grip just like Dyes, but not all manufacturers can be as accommodating with us to get their tools to work with our grips/boards.

I appreciate the candor in your repsonse...

Nice to know one is finally available. I'm fine with my stock board as I just use it in semi anyway but more options are always nice!

Umm... it's not a jab at Bob in the slightest. If I wanted to jab at Bob, I'd jab at Bob and say something naughty about him like calling him a scruffy old poacher or something weird. And then he'd probably get mad at me and call me an idiot and shoot me with a crossbow.

We never talked to Bob about using the tools for his grips because his grips don't have a window in it...

Li-ons don't have a memory effect. High current li-ons (not our gun batteries) can experience heavier degrading capacity overtime (low current ones like ours still have this, but it's not nearly as severe), but this is not a function of charging/recharging (memory). It's also good not to have the battery 100% charged all the time in long term storage. If you're really concerned about maximizing battery longevity, you should store it around 40-50% capacity. This way it reduces the amount the battery will degrade in capacity overtime. But in our OLED boards they'll still last a long time even when degraded quite a bit and you should always be able to get more than enough shots to go and play for a couple days!

Basically, in practice it's good to use your gun like normal, and then when you come home playing, the first thing you do is not charge it (although really it's ok if you do that, the "loss" is minimal and probably not noticeable). But rather charge it up the night or a couple days before you go play again. Or realistically, you don't need to charge it in between every playing session anyway... this is just guidance if you always wanted to make sure it's "topped off".
