I voted mini. I owned one for awhile and lived without the ON/OFF asa. Great gun for the money and better bang for the buck.
If money is no issue, buy the axe. The only people who money is not an issue just ask their parents to buy it for them.

I wanted to post since I own a V3 mini and play with a friend who has an axe.
I think the mini has less of a kick, allowing for more accurate second shots. I think the board matters most as the Shockwave out preforms an Optimus. Cosmetically the Axe "fits" more adults as the Mini only has one or two ways to be weilded accurately.
What do you get for paying more for an Axe? The best improvement is the trigger. I've never played a stock Mini trigger as I read to many bad things about them so I got a Mini with a CP Rake trigger. However the stock Mini trigger has a basic magnet trigger where the Axe had more adjustable magnet trigger. The feedneck is better on the Axe as it's not as much as a pain to use the smallest (exageration) allen key out there on the Mini. I think the Axe is a better marker stock, but it's not much different than the Mini.
I think you can mod any marker to out preform with gadgets but on regular semi mode, both markers are fast. I think for the money, the price and preformance is unmatched from these markers.
As for my vote, I have a ultralight setup with a V3 mini that I really like. It preforms well, is small, fast, and I don't get hit that often playing front or in the snake. In woodsball I setup a bunker at a key interection under cover and mow down those that come into the kill zone. My vote is for the Mini V3 with a rake trigger.

i dont think this has really been debated. you cant compare a low end to a mid end and use prices as pros and cons. of course, you know that since you have 80+ feedback and a geo. all depends on what you can afford in this case

Here's my take......
I love to buy used. Always have. I picked up my V3 Mini in the bst's for $120. Snagged a nib Relay for $50. Total= $170.
The cheapest Axe I've seen that I would actually consider buying was $275. There's a difference of $105 for what essentially is the same marker, minus an inch or two in size. That $105 could go a long way in customizing the Mini, making it just what I want and unique to me.
Hell, figure $35 for the grip extender, $30 for a Boss bolt, and $35 for a Seventh Element board, and now that same $275 has purchased a seriously upgraded Mini that is far beyond any stock Axe.
Again, that's looking at it from the point of view of a guy who loves the bst's and isn't too proud to buy used.

^ NOPE.
Axe is basically same platform except it improves on all the things that are bad on Mini's. The Axe has on/off ASA, tool less bolt disassembly, micro switch for the trigger, wider grip frame that fits large hands, etc

The relay can be added to a Mini (as cheap as $45 in the bst's).
Micro switch is a personal thing. I've always preferred the feel of triggers without them, such as on E-Cockers and many Angels.
No arguing with the tool less disassembly or wider grip frame for larger hands being an improvement.

Down to the main differences if u want a bigger marker with a bearing trigger or mechanical activated trigger (basically clicks) or mini-smaller and has a optical trigger (has a laser).

Mini Vs Axe
I currently own both a mini and an axe. I enjoy shooting both. The major problems that i have run into with the mini are the ASA and the stock trigger. As you can see i ripped the stock ASA off of the mini and replaced it with an empire relay. I also replace the stock trigger with a CP rake trigger. After these two upgrades my mini has performed flawless for almost 30 cases. I love how light and smoothe it shoots! My only major gripe with the axe is the weight. It weighs much more than my mini as well as my geo 2. I am going to cast my vote for the axe but only because of the stock ASA and Stock trigger. I feel that both markers shoot buttery smoothe and it really only comes down to a personal preference of weight and size of your set up that should determine your choice between the two.

No it doesn't, it just moves the foregrip further, the trigger guard is still small and hard to walk to people with larger fingers.

Not everyone pays full retail for new products. I got my Axe for more then a hundred off, brand new ordered straight from Empire.
