Getting a Luxe

My Shocker SFT finally died after 10 years. The bolt guide thread is cross threaded now due to failure to degas my marker before trying to remove it. Such a rookie mistake for how many years I've owned the marker.

I'd suggest never trying to do this as the bolt guide launched a few feet and sent my allen wrench into the unknown.

The good news is I'm finally going to "upgrade" to a Luxe.

welcome to luxe ownership. it truly is an upgrade.

sorry for your noob move, but there's a fix for it if you're looking to get your shocker back up and running.

Was fixing a gun that someone did this to and I was unaware. I gassed it up before taking it apart to see where the leak was coming from, it held for a few seconds and when I put my ear closer to listen for the leak it shot out and smashed me in the ear hole...not pleasant...anyway welcome to the club. Any questions or concerns just shoot me a PM or give me a call

I took it to a machine shop, he told me there isn't enough metal on it to rethread it. I'd love to have my shocker working. That marker has been with me for years and never failed me for a serious reason before. Just o rings and faulty dwell settings. Such an awesome marker. I'll miss it. but I just bought -- http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...865&highlight= -- the Luxe OLED from this guy. Can't wait to get it in and play with it.

Welcome to the club! I'm a new Luxe owner transition from a Shocker and I'm in love.

you dont rethread it. you drill and tap a hole through the bottom for a 'set screw' to thread into the bolt guide.

check the shocker forum. i'm pretty sure there's a write up on it.

I'll do some searching on the forum this afternoon to see what I can find on this set screw method. I'd be a little concerned as to how that will keep it from leaking air out of the back. I haven't tried to air it up or put the bolt guide back in all of the way yet due to the lack of thread/cross threading on the body. I did also try to use an old tool less bolt guide but all that did was confirm the damage to the threads of the body.

As for the Luxe, I got a tracking number today. I'll be tracking it every 5 minutes till it arrives.

there's an oring on the bolt guide that prevents air leaking out. the threads are not what seals the chamber.
