Drills

Does anyone know some really AWESOME drills I could do with my team? Just playing games doesn't seem to be helping. We need work with communictation, movement, and all around teamwork. Also any websites that have good drills or anything of the sort would still be helpful.

thanks,
JL

snap shooting, running and gunning, bunkering, and 1 on 1s are what we do most

we like to do a variation on the snapshooting drill....we have another guy post up from another bunker on a similar angle, and if the snap shooter stays out too long or exposes too much when snapping.....he's rewarded with a nice ball in the face

we also focus on running and shooting, bunker play, breakout moves, movement, timing, and alot of wind sprints for endurance....you just cannot run enough.....making the finals wont do you any good if you are too tired to perform

I read this in Facefull on a article about team Hardcore, Get two of your back men and put them in bunkers that are at a pretty good distance so that it wil take some effort to hit each other. Then have them both pop out and see who shoots who first. Their captain said that this helps the backman take shots more carefully and will help them be more accurate and consistent.

A drill I heard a guy talk about that I have never tried, is having a back and front play a game and maintain a conversation the entire time. this works 2v2 3v3 5v5... whatever... Talk about baseball, the weather, the news, whatever... Just keep talking... If you keep a conversation going it ensures both players are listening to what's being said...

We do a good snapshooting drill 1 on 1 as a warm up before practice... we use 3 bunkers... usually the back line....

standup 0 o 0 standup
----------shorty----------

or something like that. The drill is simple... snap shoot each other til the other is eliminated. You are allowed to move on the middle bunker but not past the 50 mark between you two...

The other drill we always run is good for the whole team... it works on running and gunning... 1 on 1... shooting using both hands... and using your marker as a bunker!

Players stay on opposite corners of the field lined up player a and player b both wait for a count down. When they start they run down the tape (full speed) to the 50 shooting cross the field at the opposing player who is shooting at them. Once you reach the 50 you are able to hook inwards toward the opposing player and play a 1 on 1 with them. Depending on the field layout you may end up using your marker as a bunker until getting to a useable bunker. Since you have done a sprint to the 50 you are forced to play a little more tired than usual so it's really good for building stamina. Once the 1 on 1 is over the next two people in line need to get ready for their count down. They are next and the first two players get back in line.

The other variation of this drill (usually for our front players) is to have them sprint without shooting... they will then be shot at by the next person in line (on the opposite side) who will then lane like in an actual game... then once at the 50 the usual drill continues!
