Swimming Shermans

Here's an even better look at the pair of
swimming Sherman tanks crossing the
pond during the start of the assault on
Omaha Beach, during the 2011 Oklahoma
D-Day Event.
Want to be a part of this epic battle next
June, then join our 2nd Armor Group for
what promises to be the best D-Day ever.

OK to clear up the about the comment concerning the depth of the pond. The pond is at least 10 feet or more in depth. Our tanks were free floating the whole time up to the point where we exited the pond onto dry land. Oh me and my brother own and built these tanks. Thanks for all the positive comments

Higgins Boat

As Big Joe noted, the pond at D-Day is large enough
to support not only his two mini Shermans, but also
a pontoon float boat which has been modified to look
like a Hggins Boat (Saving Private Ryan). The float
boat runs along a cable from shore to shore. With
each crossing it brings something like 20-25 players
from the Allies 1st Infantry Division and the 238th
Combat Engineers, plus the coxsin who runs it.

Sincerely,

Tanks & Planes

The Allied Army is seerking to recruit more
tanks as well as Aircraft for this year's D-Day
Event out in Wyandotte Oklahoma. If you
own a motorizaed vehicle which is capable
of traveling over 20 miles of fairly good
hard packed dirt and rock covered roads,
we'd like to invite you to join us for what
is sure to be the largest paintball event
this year.

Unlike in the past, when tanks were only
allowed to take part in the main event on
Saturday, they've agreed to open things
up so armor and aircraft can also join in
each of the daily mini scenarios. That's
five more days you'll be able to help the
infantry complete their missions.

For a look at the rules which cover what
both tanks/planes, as well as AT gunners
can and can't do review the May issue of
Stars and Stripes http://www.issuu.com/dorsai

For answers to any other questions, please
contact my office.

Hope to see you at D-Day, where you'll
find it's more than just a game.

Sincerely,

Swimming Shermans

Since there's been so many comments regards to these
swimming tanks, I thought I'd go ahead and post some
photos the builder shared with me. Who knows these
might be enough to get some of you interested in making
one of your own.

Finally, anyone who wants to get in touch with the builder can write him

but i understand he and his brother are building a M-10,
a scaled down version that is. Should have some photos
of it to share shortly.

Just wait till you see these two brothers next
project. Understand they're in the process of
building a copy of the WW II M-10 Wolverene,
using a larger 4 person amphib.

Photos as they become available.

Thanks Joe for the news about those live broadcasts. Not sure
about anyone else, but I'd love to hear more about how you're
planning to set up your broadcasts. Suspect others here might
find it interesting, as well as something they might also like to
do.

NEWS RELEASE-

Those of you who've been loyally following this and other
D-Day related threads here on PbNation should know by
now what a strong supporter of D-Day I am, but sometimes
even I'm surprised by the news coming out of Wyandotte.
This announcement is just the latest in a list of News
Flashes I have the pleasue of sharing with you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oklahoma D-DAY and Valken Sports have come
together to give YOU a chance like never before!
As a member of the Valken Corps you now have a
unique chance to experience the world’s largest paintball
event, The Oklahoma D-DAY 2012 Event.
Oklahoma D-DAY and Valken want to continue to grow the
sport of Paintball and introduce the exciting world of Scenario
play to many of you that have only experienced back yard,
local or regional paintball. It is important to continue to
introduce our sport to those that can help it grow. This
partnership will give you, as a new player, the chance to
go straight to the top!
If you have never been to Oklahoma D-DAY
or experienced what it feels like to play in a large format
Scenario game Valken would like to help you get there!
If you are new to Oklahoma D-DAY and also
a MEMEBER OF VALKEN CORP, you will receive (1) Free entry
for the 15th Anniversary of Oklahoma D-DAY, which runs from
June 11th-17th!
Although this offer is geared mostly for NEW PARTICIPANTS
OF OKLAHOMA D-DAY, the veteran Valken Corps D-Day player
has not been forgotten. If you've already had the chance to
play at Oklahoma D-DAY before, we're also extending a free
entry for you to bring a friend that has never experienced
Oklahoma D-DAY before. (Enter yourself and receive a free
new player entry for a friend!) At the same time you will also
receive 10% off of Valken Products purchased at Valken's
'Battle Ready Online' site for your efforts.
Take advantage of this limited opportunity to GEAR UP and
help grow the sport and get ready for the World’s Largest
Paintball EVENT, brought to you by VALKEN SPORTS!
Question;
How do I enter?
It’s easy, just email jrddaypromotor@yahoo.com and you
will be verified for your free registration to D-Day or your
free registration to bring a friend!!
D-Day and Valken Sports look forward to seeing you at the
15th Anniversary of Oklahoma D-Day and while you're there
stop by the Valken Booth and check out all the new products
Valken has to offer you,
See you there!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Clearly this offer is expected to draw a lot of new players to this
event, as well as others who've been there before. If things go
as antipipated there's a good chance that we'll see a record
turnout. Imagine, taking part in a paintball event that draws
4-5,000 players. If that vision doesn't get you to put down that
video game you're playing, I don't know what will.

If you're reading this notice and wondering which side to hook up
with, I can only hope you'll elect to join one of the Allied Army's
units, but even if you elect to join the dark side, stop by the
Allied Army's TOC and say hello.

Sincerely,

Live video streaming from tanks at D-Day this year

There is going to be a live webcam feed from Kellys Heroes paintball
tanks along with several round table discissions throughout the week
featuring interveiws with D-Day staff, Allied and German command
staff, player interveiws and after action reports. The video we have
playing now is a demonstration of the quailty we will be broadcasting.

I agree, the ads are a real distraction. On the
other hand somene with some coin could opt
to go with the 'ads free' option. There's also
the potential for use of this by other elements
of one's side, for example by units which are
tasked with observing without being seen. I'm
sure you follow my drift.

OK yes the ads are a pain in the butt. To go ad free costs 90 dollars a month and im not going to spend 90 dollars to broadcast for one week. I dont know what I tell you watch it dont watch it thats totally up to you.
