PE is on the right track
I have to say that it never crossed my mind that this would happen in paintball world, and I think it's great that planet eclipse found the problem. The issue I have seen with this thread is that though PE has suggested some ways to fix the problem they have not offered it as a warranty item, and in one case have suggested that you talk to the manufacturer of the radio.
I work for a board manufacturer (industrial monitoring equipment, not paintball related), and I can tell you a problem of this nature needs to be addressed. I realize that the problem is not safety related, but PE needs to understand that it is times like this when you either correct the problem and keep those loyal customers, or you do nothing, and they buy another brand next time around.
I personally hope you do the right thing, as it is hard to find anything bad to say about PE to this point, and you want to keep it that way.

This problem has been hitting my team pretty hard. The majority of us use Etek 3 LT's, and all of us use Blackbox radios. It seems to shut the marker off when its about 8 inches away from the radio, and the radio transmits. Took us forever to figure out why!
I work in electronics, and have the advantage of being able to talk to a RF engineer. He suggested a few ideas.
First off, he suggested trying to shield the board with a "Metal Shielded ESD Bag". These are bags designed to protect circuit boards from electro static discharge. They are conductive on the outside and non-conductive on the inside. This would also mean they would help protect the board from RF while not being able to short the board out. I tried this. It reduced the range at which my radio shut off the marker. It did NOT eliminate it though. I went from about 8 inches to 3 inches.
The next two ideas he offered were ferrite beads, and conductive paint. The paint would increase the shielding, the ferrite beads should reduce the RF interference (as mentioned earlier in the post). I have not tried these yet, I don't think I have any ferrite beads lying around, and I'm sure I don't have conductive paint.
Another idea I had was magnetic shielding. I didn't put a lot of effort in to this one, but my attempts did not help. There may be a better way, but

Well, congratulations whiners. It looks like the LT Upgrade kit has been discontinued, which most likely means the LT is soon to follow. How do you feel knowing that all your *****ing about one minuscule little problem has probably gotten the marker taken out of production? Now let it rest, you've done enough.

Now that's how rumours get started!
There are no plans to remove any models from our current line-up.

I carry my radio in a pouch on my back and run a throat mic with remote switch attched to the front, so this isn't an issue for me.
