They are a lot faster and more aggressive... imagine a cross between a longboard and a skateboard. It can carve like no other but other tricks and air are not out of the question. The ride is a lot smoother than a skateboard.

Its not that heavy, just an odd size. I don't know. I'm preferring a local sale but in the meantime ill start box hunting, if I can find something that this fits into I will get some shipping estimates...
