Problem with excal while eyes are on
Hey guys, ive got an 03 excal with eyes and an ebisu board. I have it capped at 12.5 ramping. With the eyes on, it shoots slow although the eyes are reading balls and seem to be working. With the eyes off, it shoots 12.5 no problem. Tried diff rotors, thats about it. Any ideas?

Thanks for asking this question. I'm having similar problems with my Excal and Mushasi board. Slow with eyes on but rips once they're off.
While I'm at it, which eye should be on which side for an excal?

Black (reciever eye) on right side of board mounted to the tray and clear (transmitter) eye on left side of board when mounted to tray.

Test with a spare board. Your eyes are either misaligned, dirty or just plain wonky.

Try a new battery if you haven't already. Make sure no wires are pinched. Sounds like faulty eyes though.

New battery, played with the settings, everything appears to be how it should. I used my camera on my phone to see if the eyes were working. I can see the beam, but it doesnt stay on. It stays on for maybe 2 seconds after a trigger pull, then they go out. Is that normal? Maybe someone can see how there eyes work for me. 03 excal w/ebisu board

That's not normal. It means your eyes are having issues, the board is then capping your ROF. Replace the eyes.
