I friend gave me this, told me it doesn't shoot.

I have no air, so haven't tried troubleshooting yet. What are the common problems with this? How do I fix those?

that would be a jt protium

A protium with the drop forward and foregrip from a JT Excellerator. Take the internals out like the bolt and hammer and give them a good cleaning and lubing.
