What paint do you guys use/recommend and also don't recommend?

Hi pbnation, I recently got my first pump (empire sniper) in trade for my old electro and I was wondering what paint you guys have came in contact with and recommend. Also if you have had bad experiences with any paint it would be vastly appreciated if you could put what paint it was and what was wrong with it. Thanks,
~luckysparta

I love evil and ultra evil, but I shoot whatever is freshest if I can't find good paint. Try and shoot the best paint you can afford, it will make your experience a lot more fun.

Evil in my T2. Never had anything but ball on ball with it. Usually run a .679 or .681 insert

Evil for me.

I wouldn't touch redemption. Valken paint quality has gone down...

I live in Southern California. The paint that I have been recently using and work amazing are Rrison Pure and Genuine gold. Evil has also worked for me, but havent used it in over a year.

The preferred paint depends largely on what is locally freshly available at your location... US? East Coast? West? North-East? New Zealand? Ukraine? Japan? GMT-4.30?

In SoCal the tournament guys would prefer to use Ultra Evil if available.
When it's not around then the next best paint is was is used.

Round...... and buy the best paint available. It's not always the most expensive. I get the field and ask around whats shooting good.

First, welcome to pump play. For most on this form, we started with electros (or at least semi’s) and have made pump ply a big part of our paintball play. For my son and I we have been pumping exclusively for nearly 2 and a half or the three years we have played paintball.

Paint is an important all paintballers, but even more important for pump players. Without the high rate-of-fire, accuracy is even more important.

Another aspect is brittleness. Since you are most likely only going to hit someone with one paintball, it is important that your one-paintball breaks.

Fill is something some forget to mention and is important as well. Again, since you are likely to make one-shot eliminations, it is very important that your “kill” is well marked.

When you add-up these three important factors it makes it apparent that high-end, tournament grade paints are your first choices.

I have had great results with DYE CG (if you can find it in good condition), Ultra Evil and even some lots of Premium. I am sure there are some other good choices as well and have been mentions by others. What I can say, do not skimp.

The other aspect you need to consider is the correct barrel to paint fit. With a pump, you must under-bore. Since you have an Empire Sniper, your barrel kit offers you a good selection of bore options. Be sure your paint fits snugly in the bore. This will prevent poll-outs and optimize efficiency as well.

Again, welcome to pump play.
