SL or TL should help you out there.
These guys saying to hide it in the barracks are in the wrong here.
Last thing you want is an irate CO shoving paper work so far up your *** you get paper cuts on your lips.

The best option would have been never bringing it up to your chain of command that way you could have pretty much have done whatever you want, but if your smart about it you can still keep it there just put it in your trunk before inspections and stuff like that and generally out of site during work and you should be fine. I mean the only real way they would find it is if they did a health and comfort and if thats the case most of the time theyre looking for some things that are a lot worse than a paintball gun

Or you can just leave that **** in your barracks room and not worry about it. If it's not on the barracks memo then **** it. People had airsoft pistols and paintball guns in their room, 1SG didn't care.

I usually kept my teammates markers at my house for them. They got caught with them in the barracks a couple of times after a tournament and the 1SG would take them to his office. They would have to go and beg for them back. Since I worked on base they usually could convince the 1SG to give them the markers so I could take them home with me.

I know a few marines that play airsoft inside their barracks. Most barracks that I've lived in never cared. Hell, I used to play with a BM1 that lived in the barracks with me, and we both kept them in our rooms. I kept mine locked in my locker in a duffel bag. Nobody ever bothered to open the bag to see what was inside during an inspection.
My advice would be if it's not clearly stated in the barracks regs, submit a chit requesting it be clarified in the regs or a waiver be granted for it. Give your reasons why on the chit, and do some research to back it up. Also, if it's not allowed in the barracks, there's a good chance they consider it the equivalent of a firearm. In that case, your car wouldn't be any better if they found out it was there. Paper trails are always the best. CYA

i know on ft. bragg they aren't allowed in your room. I'm sure one contributing factors was when 307th EN BN was still around there was a paintball shootout between bravo and alpha co's barracks. CSM saw that the sides of the two buildings had been repainted the next morning and freaked out.
I had a bunch of gear in my room (minus the gun itself which was at my girl's house) and during a health and welfare immediately started looking for the gun. it is pretty much considered a firearm, just store it at a buddy's house or in a storage unit.

9/10 times it has to go into the arms room..but I had a few of my soldiers equipment at my house..but my CSM didn't care if they were in there room as long as you were responsible with it.

I know it's not a paintball gun, but I brought my rem 700 down to Barksdale on TDY. I kept it at a guy I worked with's house. I was originally going to keep it in the armory but was cautioned against it since security forces was notorious for using the guns without your knowledge. Just keep it at a friends place.

Never EVER put one in the armory.
Always kept my **** locked up in the trunk of my car, hidden beneath the panels. Only time I ever brought in my gear bag was to clean all my gear, and then it'd go right back into my car.
I had a Gunny flip **** over a spring loaded wal-mart see through airsoft pistol I had gotten as a joke cause my roommate had ambushed me with an electronic one, and I forgot I had it. She ended up giving it to the Barracks Manager, who was a prick and still has it. Ah well.
Got my own place now though, so no worries for me.
Also, a little unrelated but if you bring a gun at all on base, and you plan to have it there for more then 24 hours, register it on base. It's a pain but I had to do this with my Glock, and it saved me the trouble later on when I got pulled over coming on base for a random inspection and they found it in my trunk. Saves a lot of headaches, trust me.

US Army Company armorer speaking here, I have to have all company paintball guns, among other things(firearms, bb guns, airsoft, bows, crossbows) stored in my arms room at all times and sign them out on weekends. Personally i keep everything in my storage unit off post and only take it on to play at the field we have here on post.

This is retarded. It's a paintball gun, not a weapon. No reason you can't keep it in the B's.
