paintball markers are not pistols they have forward grips ,also just keep an 18inch barrel on until your at your local field.
i wish people would learn to read. but then i forget im on pbn...

THAT PART OF THE LAW NO LONGER APPLIES. ALL BB DEVICES ARE NOW INCLUDED!!!!!!!

also, it passed in the senate today, now it just has to pass in the safety committee.

I dont live in california. Therefore, I dont care

Sucks but hopefully they wont do this. However, I can see why the law is needed, sadly.

Many states will follow suit. I can see IL being one of them as well as Florida following suit. If we can help stop the trouble in cali it will halt it from coming to your backyard.

CA and NY decided being free wasn't a good idea.

Don't be so sure about that. Just because you are an expert at telling paintball guns apart from real guns does not mean the cop is. More importantly it doesn't matter. Even if it is a pink super soaker, the cop should tell you to drop it and separate you from it and detain you in some manner.

The people in California need to take a stand on this issue, again, the CA legislators do not care if people outside of the state do not like the bill, they only care if their constituents contact them directly.

If this bill becomes a law, it establishes a precedent for other states to follow if they want to make a similar law. Everyone can not be short sighted on this issue. Contact people you know in California and let them know to contact their legislators.

haha, just read all of the comments. Looks like 90% of paintballers decided not to read the entire bill! Maybe listen to Chris and John here... they sure know what they're talking about.

Even though you dont live in CA, it will effect you. Think of all the companies and retailers in CA. And ya, i predict IL being the 2nd and then NY.

Well, I can see some states following suit, but for the most part the rest of the US is tired of following Cali, NY and Florida around. It's understandable - we aren't blind to what goes on around the nation, especially in California as they make such a big deal out of everything Cali does. Believe it or not, some states don't want to follow them because of the mess they got themselves into. Not hating on California, just thinking they aren't the Mecca of the paintball world is all.

Worst case scenario - Cali paintball dies out, companies can and will move to another state(s), teams move to other, more tolerant states. The rest of the nation then starts watching to see what happens.

This isn't good for paintball, and you guys need to be sending letters and talking to your reps and senators about this - but seriously, there are 50 other states out there - as well as the rest of the world. If it dies in Cali and Florida, I can bet we won't be seeing the end of paintball forever despite you guys thinking the rest of the country is crap for the sport. TALK TO YOUR POLITICIANS GUYS! Be the frontline soldiers for the rest of us!

Just got off the phone with my local Senator (Tom Berryhill) and he is going to oppose the ban on paintball and urge other Republicans to do the same.

A cop will notice a difference right away being that I don't think you can legally own a 68 Cal gun, nor do I think many people do. It is a big sufferance that a cop someone who handles guns should know that there is no tube on normal guns when there is a steel braided hose or an asa on them a cop should notice something is wrong

You are missing the fact that they are not concerned with what it looks like. A gun shape object means they draw their gun on you. Second, cops generally have no ****ing clue about firearm and can hardly use them.

.

If it resembles a gun and doesn't have an orange tip, they'll have their gun drawn.

And if it does have an orange tip they should also draw.
