It has nothing to do with pride, you are talking about people moving and leaving their jobs just to continue a hobby. I am guessing you don't have to pay your own bills and have a full time job. It just would be impossible for a lot of people.

On the upside you'd have smarter legislators.

It means I wouldn't visit. Most trips to California for me involve playing paintball. If I have to worry about a $10,000 fine, then it isn't worth it.

I'm a California resident, but I'm stationed at a base on the east coast. I play paintball at least once a month, but when I come home to California, I play several times a month. If this bill passes, I probably will change my state residency and plan on living in another state when I get out of the military.

My opinion on this issue: its about saving the lives of police officers and the people who they protect. If you pull out ANYTHING in a threatening manner towards a police officer, you deserve to be shot. Imagine you are a cop and someone makes a threatening move, are you really going to take the time to make a decision on whether the item in their hand is real or not? They are making a threatening move. Shoot them to defend yourself. Criminals won't care if there is a law about this, and in fact, some will try to exploit it. This bill won't do anything but hurt businesses and add one more needless bureaucratic layer to the mind of a cop who just wants to protect the people in his city.

I'm a California resident. Will I leave if the bill passes? No. There's too much money involved in moving that it just isn't feasible for the Average Joe to just pick up and move because he wants to keep playing paintball. And honestly, is paintball really as big anywhere else as it is in So Cal? If the bill passes though, and I really hope it doesn't, I'll be among those who vote to get it repealed.
