I have a canon 70-200 f4, and the focus with stick sometimes if that makes sense. Anyone have any idea on how much that could cost to fix? Havnt had time to take it into a shop yet.

I shot a concert yesterday and I want to know how to make my pics less grainy. I'm a very amateur photographer and probably do not deserve to be backstage at the concerts I go to, but that's besides the point. I shot with a Canon T3 and 70-250 EF-S lens. Aperture was at F 5.6, and I was messing with the shutter speed to get the right amount of lighting for the night pictures. Also, my Iso was set at 400.

Here are some examples of my pictures:

Again, I suck.

Faster glass will do a lot to help that out. What focal lengths are you doing most of your shots at?

Is the 70-200 f2.8 IS first gen going to perform as well as a second gen? I know I'm buying this lens but don't know where i should save money and go first gen. Pretty much for video purposes initially but I'll probably start shooting photos in time.

The V1 is a solid performer and you will not be disappointed.
Save the money you would in buying a V2 and buy some more glass

Lookin for some help here, just getting into photography more and possibly videography. What is the difference between a C sensor (7D) and a full size sensor (5D M2)? What are the big pros and cons of each? Do I really even need a full size sensor?

I looked around but couldn't find this, sorry if I am reposting...Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Another one:
http://thedigitalpicture.com/Canon-L...op-Factor.aspx

GENERALLY speaking, full frame sensors handle higher ISO better, and have better still image quality. Image quality with regards to video doesn't really go one way or another, as even 1080p doesn't use the sensor's full resolution capacity. A full frame sensor does use more of the lens' image circle, resulting in more distortion and vignetting at wider apertures, and gives more of a 35mm "feel".

Can someone please lead me in the right direction!

i would really like to get started taking pictures and selling them of paintball and well anything. but i have no idea where to begin.

I can get a canon xti rebel plus an additional lens for about $200 from a friend of mine but then if i were to sell pictures would i also need a portable printer? if so what kind?

If you do sell them to people do you print and sell them right then and there at the tournament? Also do i need a laptop to edit them?

Im so lost..

You want to charge for photos, yet have no experience photographing, editing, or other applicable skills?

I think you might be putting the cart WAY out infront of your horse.

expect to invest in about a grand of photography equipment before you make a single penny of that back. people pay for good photographs. understand that you simply will not take good photographs when you are first starting out.

to answer some of your questions, typically a photographer will book a team before the event and will shoot a certain number of photos or games of the team during the event. after the event, they will deliver the photos on a disc, through their website, maybe prints but I honestly don't know any paintball photographers who do that, and occasionally through file transfers/ftp.

If you'd like my personal opinion, I think you should start with shooting practices with a very minimal camera set up. See if you enjoy shooting before you decided to make it into a "job." Also consider the fact that there is hardly any money to be made in shooting paintball. You will likely be in the hole for a while before you actually make any money back.

This x2

I've invested close to 5K in my equipment and only have made around 75% back so far.
Paintball does not make the money like you think it would
In order for you to even book a team you need a quality portfolio for them to justify the price.
But get out there and shoot. Learning is best through experience

Use your body or look into a kata bag. A lot of us use wrist bands on the lens, as well.
