Hey guys I'm having a bit of trouble with my Canon 50 1.4. At 1.4-1.8 I need a MA of -12 to get spot on focusing at less than 10. At 10ft + its ridiculously back focused. At 2.5+ it doesn't show any difference when it comes to focus distance. Any ideas?

for me. out of 5 forums, ebay, craigslist, and hundreds of transactions since 2005, i've only been scammed once (which was back in the summer of 2006). and it was here on pbnation.

if you know what you are doing, you should be able to go through deals on used items. though it is understandable because trust isn't always there in the world of the internet

you can also look for used cameras on trustable camera stores like Adorama or BH Photo

I forgot about craigslist..crap.

Just saw a release that Nikon is coming out with the D5100 and that might be something I might go for instead of the 60D. 60D does have a faster fps but by a frame or 2 but $300 more then the D5100. Video autofocus does not mean a thing since I use manual focus. 11point AF is another plus for the D5100. The flip screen is another reason for me to consider the D5100.

Not sure on battery life on the D5100.

user interface and noise makes the 5d better. You won't have to mess with 1d batteries or the bulk of it if you don't want to. I'd say the 5d is a better choice but I've never played around with a 1ds mk1. I love the 5d and I read that it has better ISO handling all around compared to 1ds I and II

For paintball or other sports photographers that require you to export a large amount of pictures at once, what program do you use to watermark your pictures?

I use Lightroom. Lightroom 3 has built-in watermarking tools that are very good, much improved on LR2. For LR2 I used the LRMogrify2 plugin for watermarking (text and/or graphic).

Light Room sucks for watermarking, thats actually why i wanted another alternative, ive been using the LR thing. But when your exporting sometimes hundreds of files at the same time, and the watermark has to go in the same place for every single photo, it gets annoying. and exporting each file individually is not an option haha.

I'm not really interested in having two monitors running off my MBP in addition to the monitor on the laptop itself, I don't have that sort of room either.

never had any problems with the lr3 watermarking but did have some trouble with the lr2 mogrify when it wouldn't save my settings or would switch settings with the others

Thanks, thats what I have been seeing but I have also saw some used ones for 135ish. Is it worth the extra money for the Nikon brand or would a 3rd party one be just as good?

Most 3rd party ones are made cheaper, but since the MB-D80 is plastic too, it probably doesnt matter. I like mine though
