What's up dood? So you do recommend giving The Master a watch? I've been super stoked about it for a while now...

Dredd: 8.5/10

Over the top violent and brutal gore in some scenes. Good action, decent plot, GREAT visuals. Definitely an enjoyable action movie that has some grit to it.

Leaves of grass - 7/10. Took a weird turn towards the end but I thoroughly enjoyed norton's performance.

Dolan's Cadillac - 3/10. I like Christian slater but this was just awful.

Saw Loopers tonight. I was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't amazing by any means, but the best thing about it is its originality. Acting wasn't bad, and something about Emily Blunt just gets me hot and bothered. She's hot in a not so hot way. Something I can't explain. I definitely suggest the movie, maybe not movie theater prices worth it, but definitely worth seeing period.

Also saw Hotel Transylvania on Thursday. It was definitely better than I thought it would be. Saw it with my daughter and we both thought it was silly in a good way. Seeing it in regular and not in 3D is the way to go I think. Nothing in it screamed "see it in 3D"

V/H/S - 8/10. Just got back from a pre screening. Though the whole shot from a handheld camera thing is kinda bunk, I really enjoyed this movie. The main plot is kinda pointless but builds a little anxiety as it goes. It felt like a more fleshed out, grown up version of "Tales from the Crypt", or a visual representation of that childrens book "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark". The best thing, imo, was that each individual segment never overstayed it's welcome. Any one of those synopses could have been dragged out into an entire, low budget piece of crap you're likely to find on SyFy, but when kept to 15-20 minutes instead of 90, it just feels right. If you like horror it's worth checking out.

Citizen Gangster- 6/10 decent film about the Boyd Gang in Canada. Nothing spectacular. If you can't find anything else on netflix, it's a decent watch.

I don't consider it good, the first one was ok and it's all downhill from there. While this certainly had elements of PA, they weren't the crux of the movie by any means, which kept it tasteful imo.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi - 8/10

As far as documentaries go, it's certainly not the most profound, informative, or incredible piece of film put together. But it still accomplishes the goal of letting you really feel connected to someone and his associates that work in an incredibly obscure field, in an even more foreign country. You really gather a sense of Jiro's perfection and mastery of the craft. Every scene of him cooking is like watching art being made, whether it be from the way they turn rice, fluff the eggs, or close their eyes and gently pack the rice under their elegantly cut meat, finishing it with a single brush of sauce. I'm not even that big of a sushi fan but this movie made me just as hungry as I was fascinated and appreciative of man's lifelong accomplishment of being considered one of the greatest chefs on the planet.
