Let's start from the top:
I purchased this board to replace my WAS board in the quest. I finally get a chance to start messing with it last night, and i immediately came to a point where the board was behaving differently from the manual.
the source of the greatest confusion so far is in the manual itself. it directs you to use an external LED and an internal LED, but so far i have yet to see a second LED.
this manual for the quest is the one found on APE's website.
any guidance would be great.
EDIT: is the current APE raiders board using updated software?
Second Edit: After a little digging and document review, the appropriate manual is now the Gen 4 rev 5 manuals, found here, if anyone in the future should run into this problem.
