Marker Help

I've recently starting thinking about getting into woodsball.. more than speedball. Im wondering whats the most reliable woodsball/scenario marker out there/. Because if i do decide to get into it more i want to know which gun to buy if i sell my ego.

hwen i started out i did it with a Tippmann A5, then in time an X7 Phenom, and they get the job done very well, they are reliable, easy to mantain and repair, then i went into speed and made a mix out of it and got my hands in an EGOX but then again this is a matter of choice: i play woodsball with an EGO.

if you feel comfy with an ego playing woods stick to it if you wnat to go MILSIM looking and all that get a X7 Phenom, it has better efficiency than the A5 and most of the other MILSIM looking woodsball guns

that's my 2 cents, hope it helps

I am MilSim, but I do appreciate a good high quality tourney gun as much as anyone else. Keep the Ego unless you are just wanting the Milsim look. If that is the case then I'd look to the Phenom like Drew said, or maybe the TM15.

The Eclipse markers are becoming one of the favorites of scenario players.

You shooting anything now? First marker?

If you want a quiet marker, get an low pressure electropneumatic rather than a high pressure BLOW Back marker which are inherently LOUD.

However, they are fussy and not as reliable as a good old fashion Tippman, Spyder, etc.

If you think you might want to play scenarios, remember we play snow, rain, or shine. The electronic guns tend to stay home when it is wet..... They will not sneak up a creek for fear of getting their marker wet...

You will want your initial purchase or FIRST upgrade to be High Pressure Air. Avoid CO2 problems by not getting it in the first place. If you budget demands it, you can buy used 20 oz CO2 bottles for $10 ANYWHERE. Just start waving a $10 dollar bill around your local paintball field asking if anyone has a 20 oz CO2 for sale....

Avoid the starter kits from Sports Authoity, walmart, etc. Cheap stuff you will replace shortly. You want a THERMAL lens mask, HPA, motorized hopper to start with your marker. Those starter kits do not come with that. Ignore any "anti fog" wording. They fog... Thermal lens is like a storm window with Two lenses with an air space in between.

Are the Tippmann A5 upgrades, like the shroud and stocks, really worth it? do they actually help or just look cool? Thx

Look cool mostly. The stock do help. But a tank onthe gun works just like a stock. So mostly they are for looks as well. And they are worth it if you want them. I have one A5 I run wwith no real upgrades other then the FlatLine and the tank on the gun and then one that has a UMP kit on it. I like both. The UMP kit doesnt do alot other then look good, add some rails.
