now are all the mods basically based outt of their home??? or are you all based out of one building in like the same area??

I would think out of your homes. Do you get paid to be a mod?

cause I would like to be a mod, but I don't think that I would really want to get paid for it. I would be content on moderating the forums for free and keeping people in line with all of their misposts

how do you become a mod?

I don't get paid much. Only about 45K a year. But it's really for the medical coverage and fringe benefits why I took the job! 2week paid vacation is great!

no we dont get paid a thing. to become a mod start posting on the site. help the users and get yourself a good name. when mod positions open we look to the users that have distingushed themselves from the rest. it usualy takes a while but the more your out there and the other mods see what you do on the site the better chances of becoming a mod.

its lame how most people just mock people who ask this question. its a legit question and even though its asked alot it should be justified an answer from most. most people say that if ya are asking to be a mod you'll never become one. when ya see threads or posts report them if theyre in violation ot the FOT. its what i usually do, i try to do my part on ST for the most part since im basically on this site every day. i venture into other forums as well like PBT or the newbie forum to help people. whatever though, help's usually appreciated in the real world so i try to make it apply here by doing my part and assisting the mods/admins/megas/etc.

They get those types of answers because the question is asked every week soemtimes multiple times. All they need to do is *search* for it a bit. Just takes a lil effort.
