American Flag shoebox shocker 4x4 (rare?)

Help on value? I'm led to understand it's rare, I don't know shockers for anything. Has seen use & shows wear and a bit of finish chipping, see pics. No clue on functionality, probably needs a battery harness rig as it's been in storage forever

Should the tank/maxflo be kept with it and, where's the born date on these tanks - 2000?

Yea they are rare to see these days.... Too bad someone did a hack job with some JB Weld on the feedneck... that really kills it. The tank date is 00. Pitch the tank. Life has expired but keep the reg with the gun.

THanks ^
That's actually finish chip on feedneck not JB, but yea it sure does pop out. I don't know if white feednecks are out there for these.

On further inspection I'm thinking the glue on feedneck was to help keep the feedneck finish chipping down, looks to me the design on this gun would result in some finish wear when you thread the feedneck in

I'm looking to get it in a collector's hands, what's fair here? Feels like low 200's to me based on what I've found about value/run, but looking for expert input.

The feedneck is press fit, no threads. Common for them to come loose/fall off. That's prolly the reason for the glue/epoxy. It has collector value for sure. Low 200's... maybe? The condition is really going to hurt the price. I wouldn't take less than $175 for it. Do you know the board in it? I see the switch cover so I'm guessing S/F or Turbo S/F. Not many Shoebox collectors, but someone will want it for sure. If it was in better condition I would shoot you an offer on it.

If it was an anno job, then hells yes. But a paint job/clear coat/powder coat really doesn't add much value to a collector. It will likely make for a quick sale though. Nice piece, looks like a fun shooter.

^ This is a factory finish to my knowledge, they did these around 2000 and what I"ve read is there's <20 or so. I don't know shockers so you guys tell me, but I see no indications this is an aftermarket finish (I've painted cars, have some perspective on painting stuff)

It is reverse flag which is an oddity but it looks to me to be consistent with below.

EDIT: multiple offers pending in $200 range, going to a good home.

Thread with good info on these here...

not a factory 1 of 10.

That's a spanky paint job on a shocker.

Your colors are reversed, and not detailed like the factory ones.

I have the matching Autococker.

Adam Gardner of Smart Parts says it is one of theirs? So can Spanky confirm either way?

Edit: The colors are reversed compared to the one in the catalog, but that doesn't mean it isn't factory.
