Not new at all but dont know where else to put this. I have a nxt shocker as my backup right now, main gun is a cyborg rx. I like it and want a spool to use in awful, rainy days in practice. The shocker is not the most ready to go after sitting in my bag for a month gun out there so my question is, whats the most reliable spool in the 3-400 range (used). I am looking at a geo but want to know if there is anything else out there reputed for its ability to take abuse, and maybe like it

Geo would be the most reliable. If you are looking for a gun that is enclosed, you can also look at inline poppits. I was using an axe when it was raining at my field and it shot straight through it no problem. You could also look at older BL marqs. Besides the Geo, I would say a Dm6 or Dm7 would do well also. Would take one of those over a geo.

You can find a MacDev Droid, Drone, or even a Drone DX in that range. I had a Droid that went from being my everyday gun, to a backup & was fine. It would chrono great, and shot money every time...even after sitting in my bag, feeling neglected.

You won't be disappointed with the Geo. I have had all of them since their inception and have played with them in the rain, mud and snow. They are pretty bullet proof. My only suggestion for you is to try and get one with the Gr2 and GST already installed. These will make it so much smoother. Have fun looking!

Alright guys and gals I needs some info and/or opinions. I'm looking to upgrade my marker. I have a MR1 at the moment. 90% of playtime will be woodsball. I've read a few posts here and on other sites. I'm down to 3 markers. The Tippmann 98 Custom, Tippmann A-5, and the Tippmann X7 Phenom. I want it mechanical. Price limit $750. I'm leaning toward the X7 with a flatline barrel and the stock low-profile hopper. Like I said that's what I'm leaning toward but, I would like some more input before I drop that kind of money. Or if you can think of any better woodsball guns in that price range.

TM15. Coolest looking and best performing woods ball gun IMO

Wow...that is pretty nice. I might have to change my mind about those Tippmanns.

I would go with the TM7, it's small and lightweight, it's got all the capabilities of the Invert Mini. It's pretty much a mini in a woodsball marker

The X7 phenom is a great buy. I know several people that loves theirs. I would avoid the flatline barrel. It claims to give back spin but when I had one it just chopped more paint, but I don't know if they've redesigned it or not, I would go with the apex barrel

Hello everyone - Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

Looking to get back into paintball after a 7 year hiatus. I have been reading like crazy to get back up to speed, but I still have a ton of questions.

I am looking to purchase a gun in the ~$200 range. I think I would prefer a poppet due to lower maintenance, but would consider a spool. Looking for a gun to play speedball with.

It seems like some popular choices are the minis or eteks, although axes and etek 2/3 may seem worth the extra cash. Willing to stretch the budget to $300 if it is really worth it. Should I consider getting an older Timmy? I am somewhat hesitant towards this option as it seems like it may be better in the long run to get a newer gun.

Thanks for the assistance and if there is someone who wouldn't mind me with other paintball-related questions I could really use the help getting back up to speed.

I would put the extra cash out for an axe. An etek 3 will hold up great but overall an axe has the best performance for the price range

Alright people, I have a little bit of a dilemma. So after being away from the sport for 7 years, I am looking to re-enter. My two options currently on the table are a DM6 and a PM8.

The DM6 deal:
Dm6 with green lasers, CP plug, Cp on/off, Complete Freak barrel kit. with an empire prophecy. $400

PM8:
Basically stock, with the exception of an upgraded bolt. $300

Go with the DM6, it's a better deal, the freak kit is expensive, as well as the prophecy being $100+

Neither, IMO. Any reason you're limited to those two?

A used gun allows people to get into the High-end market at a low price. Of course support your local store, but a used gun just helps people get into finding their perfect gun better

No I'm not limited to either, when I used to be in the game I liked the Matrix based markers. I can't afford new, and unless I actually get back into serious play, I dont want to drop a grand on a marker. the PM8 is from a friend who won it in a tourney, never really used it. the DM is something I found on CL locally. These two specifically has just sparked my interest.
