Why cant you bring your own paint?
just wondering the reasoning because even if you do freeze it it just makes the paint eve more brittle, so easier to pop..

Field paint only = revenue for the fields. Many fields make most of their money from paint sales. They don't allow outside paint because if they did players would buy cheaper paint elsewhere and the field wouldn't make money. The field would then shut down and you wouldn't have a place to play at.

This, as stated previously is all about revenue. Paintball isn't near the most expensive hobby I have, or have had, so I don't get the big issues a lot of people have with no outside paint. The field has to make money to maintain somehow! I guess paintball attracts a lot of young kids, and their parents are either paying and regulating the amount, or they are trying to pay with lawn mowing wages, so I get it. But remember: No money for the field = no field. pay to play, or save money and play less often.

Another reason along with revenue or cash for the course is safety. Some people will freeze or find different ways to alter paintballs. It aleviates oppurtunity for idiots to hurt people as well.

I honestly cannot see what people would do to alter paint. If I am playing with someone, I hope they freeze the paint. If the other side has brittle paint, it wont make it out of their gun!!!

Now the insurance on the field may not know how hard it is to alter paint, but really it makes it easier to control what is going on when it is field paint only.

Then you get the profit part... which is most likely the biggest reason.
