Option 1 only differs from before in that all of the events would be in Florida instead of FL/GA/SC/wherever else.

My bad to UCF for leaving them off the list.
To Greg from FAU, I proposed those dates so that way there would be a couple of weeks between the last CFPS, the NCPA event, and World Cup. If this is actually going to become a reality, itd be nice to know asap so that way we all can figure out which events we'll be able to make.

Consider the split to be a reality.

Id say so. So what are we? FLC?

Someone mentioned earlier but I'm too lazy to find it, but I'm not opposed to something like:
1. Tampa/Lakeland
2. Orlando
3. Tallahassee
4. South Florida (Miami/West Palm/etc)
5. Nationals

I suppose we could add another event if needed so we have 3 events per semester. It would allow you to miss one and not miss out on the max number of points for the season (4 regional + nationals), but then again attendance might dip because of that.

Another idea was brought up that we could do a "regional" tournament in say, GA or something like that, where we could have 2/3 FL tournaments and then we share an event with MSCC for a tournament in March, right before Nationals.

We need to clarify how many events are required. I am pretty sure it is 6 but I am looking on NCPA right now.

I'm down for whatever on event locales, but I still think hosting everything at CFP would be smart.
There should not be more that three locations unless an event is being hosted on a campus and I think we should support that.

I assume someone from NCPA is going to give out some guidance on this soon.

National standings are determined by top 4 "regular-season" event scores, and highest score from Nationals. So, at least 4 events is key.

While there aren't any 'requirements' for holding a certain number of events in a season; we like to see established regions run at least 4 events plus Nationals.

It's atypical to host multiple events at the same venue in a season, such as what we're proposing doing with CFP. Not that I'm saying it's a bad idea, it's just atypical.

We haven't come in yet and say, "This is the way it's going to be" as we'd always like to have the teams that are actually going to play have their voices heard on the season they prefer. If there's a strong opinion one way or another that we haven't thought about, we want to hear it.

So, a simple question for the Florida schools: which season structure would entice your team to attend all regional events more: 4 season events at CFP, or 4 season events spread over the state?

I'm not opposed to either of the ideas. Travelling around FL isn't that bad and the drives are not going to be horrible for anybody. They will be better than what we had been driving originally for events.
And if we do decided to hold them all at CFP I see that as fine too, being that it is a central place that will stay the same, along with the cost of travel remaning about the same for those that may have a few hours to drive to get there.

I think I can speak for UCF when I say either one works for us.

That is why I couldn't find it on the website. Thanks Joe. I'm gonna get this all figured out sooner or later.

Would CFP be considered a conflict since Florida teams potentially will play there much more often... and nationals is there.... so ?

Four events is fine with me although having a couple back up dates might be a good idea considering Florida weather.....

I propose that we go with the 4 events spread out. Many of the florida teams will be playing both Cup and Nationals.

As far as weather, unless there is a hurricane, i think that a little rain never hurt anybody. =P

to Joe: I'd like to see this done as officially as possible. We need to get out of the forums and more legitimate.

In addition to the attention taken to make sure that the events don't over lap with PSPs, I feel like they should also not over lap each other for the teams that would like to play both conferences, or if an event in one conference gets cancelled the there will be an event in the other conference offered to regain points.

if this is what happens we will definitely play the events. Cup and Nationals are our biggest expenses. FAU should be able to play the florida series regardless but as to if we put one or more teams is up to money.

Not sure why we weren't on the club list, but I put us back up there. UCF will be competing in the entire season again and would love to support and all Florida conference.

While having every event at CFP would be cheaper for us and would keep consistency, I feel like it would just turn in to and extension of CFPS. Part of the fun of the NCPA is travelling to different cities, seeing different schools, and giving different fields the opportunity to host a tournament. I really like the idea of 3-4 events in Florida and 1-2 in Georgia with the other new conference.

Do we have anyone that has stepped up as conference director?

I agree with that ^^

It would be nice for us at UCF because CFP is only an hour away, I don't see it fair to the other teams that have to drive further than that every time for each event. I wouldn't mind driving a few more hours here and there to travel to another school's home field so they can have a chance to not drive 4/5/6/7 hours one-way.

That's what I would prefer, but if every other team is happy with just CFP, I don't have a problem with it just being there, either.

Thumbs up Let's start moving forward!

Ok, well it sounds like everyone that has posted is opposed to all events hosted at CFP. Why don't we follow that thread and start planning the dates.

EVENT NAME / DATE / LOCATION / CONTACT

Non- NCPA events to consider

CFOA #6 / 04SEPT2011 / PBC / Tentative

CFPS #6 / 10SEPT2011 - 11SEPT2011 / CFP / N/A

CFOA #7 / 17SEPT2011 - 18SEPT2011 / PBC / N/A

CFOA #8 / 02OCT2011 - 02OCT2011 / PBC / N/A

CFOA #9 / 12NOV2011 / PBC / N/A

NCPA Schedule:

World Cup / 20OCT2011 - 23OCT2011 / Fantasy of Flight / Chris or Joe

1.

2.

3.

4.

5. ALTERNATE

6. Nationals Last year was: Nationals / 15APR2011 - 17APRIL2011 / CFP / N/A

My suggestion is go try for two options for each event, that way we can move quickly if we need to change something before finalization.

Keep in mind the empire/keeaction promotions as well. If your local field is hosting a non-NCPA event you might want to post it also.
Whats good?

UCF would like to host at PB World for an event, but it should be pretty open as to when we can host. We'll have to get in contact with the owner of PBW and see what dates work for him.

I could speak to Gator Paintball if we need to.
www.gatorpaintball.info

PBworld.

CFP will probably be a venue.

There is a trend developing here...

We need some north Florida, south Florida, south Georgia input.

Oasis Paintball is more than capable of hosting in Fort Myers. I wouldn't mind traveling all over Florida, but I don't believe Tallahassee has a field near by? Wouldn't mind going to South Georgia either, Atlanta is always fun.
