A local store is supplying them for us, it's a pretty good deal. All the players get free pants, gloves and a bucky. So the tendys get free sticks and pant shells as compensation, because I know that we're not gonna be getting free gloves and buckys lol.

Had second game of the summer session yesterday. Felt great, but really need to work on elevating the puck with my back hand cause i had 2 great rebound chances off the goalie that I just couldn't lift. |

Can we please delete this thread until winter? My skates are begging to be used now, but I have nowhere to skate  . Contrary to popular opinion it is, unfortunately, not permawinter in Minnesota. |

Theyre laying the insulation down for the ice today. Im gonna go help lay pipes and paint the bathrooms tomorrow. I havnt volunteered yet and they said all volunteers are invited to the soft opening. Basically theyre having a bbq and playing some hockey for everyone that helped, donated, etc...So i have to do something so i can go skate for free on brand new ice

My rink has open hockey where anyone can hop on and organize pick up games and what not. Thats great for people who don't really play competitively.

Shook hands with Ben Maxwell of the winnipeg jets tonight, in the shower. cool guy. Also had David Jones of the avalanche go 0 for 2 on me, I think it was more luck than anything.

So i went in my yard yesterday and practiced shooting. I set up a bucket and just tried to shoot into it. I hit the bucket every single time on my wrist shot, and made the puck in about 6/10 times from probably 15 feet away.
The problem comes when i try to put any kind of velocity behind my shot, it just goes wild. anyone got any tips for shooting faster without losing accuracy? It also seems that when i try to think about my technique, im less accurate than when i just set up and shoot without really thinking about it.
Mind you this is my first time even shooting a puck in a long long time, and i was shooting an ice puck off a piece of plywood, with an old wooden stick

you need a stiffer stick or a smaller curve or your form is off on follow through the toe of the blade should be where you want the puck t go not any higher or lower just practice nailing the corners ive been playing puck for 16 years i like my summers off to play speedball but i still play summer leauge because im playing college in the fall or pro echl |

Skating every Tuesday and Thursday with Cal and Snook (Ryan) O'Rielly. Tons of sick guys come out and it's a great time, makes me realize how much I need to work haha.
