TPX or TiPX???

Ok is there any difference between a TPX from say a year or two ago and the current model? The only thing that I see is the new 7 round trufeed mags as compared to the 8 round mags. Any thing else changed??? A friend of mine is selling his two year old one at a good price and I'm thinking of getting it.

I may be wrong but I think the newer Tipx just has the trufeed mags and the parts update that Tippmann gave out for the Tpx.

I believe they redesigned the regulator and got rid of the banjo fitting and giving it a better efficiency.

They also modified the bolt, breach and spring. I actually talked to TIPPMANN about some issues I was having with the TPX, and they looked up my SN of my pistol, told me its internals have been updated, and sent me a package at no charge.

Included:

New Bolt
Spring
Breach
co2 cap (adjustable)
2 TPX Tru Feed Mags

Definitely worth calling them for!!!

hmm, when i called them about the issues with my tpx, they didnt offer to send me any update parts, they said that i should just write a letter to one of the managers when i send in the pistol. i am still having valve issues. i am going to pick up the TiPX version soon though, figure id at least give it a try to compare the two.

Just my .02, but I own the new TiPX and have to say it's very paint finicky. Played in a undisclosed field using Valken paint and it worked perfectly. I recently was at Liberty Paintball and my TiPX chopped a paintball in the breach after the 4th round was fired. They were using Empire paint and it was all dimpled. My X7 Phenom went through it with no chops or breaks but of course I did get a lot of wingers. I hate to say it though, that chop left a bad taste in my mouth because it rendered my TiPX useless for most of the day.

MgunKelly,

Dude, I could kick myself - we should have shot off the balls in my mags yesterday before we left. It would have given you a feel for the thing. Next time!

there are quite a few internal changes and the tru feed mag makes a big difference. but tippman will replace most of these for free. just take it to a tippman tech (one that will have the parts on hand) . they will not give you the tru feed mags on the spot .

The TiPX is what you want, since its the newer version hand adresses some of the other issues. Plus, its easier to add the remote line adapter since one of the fittings has been changed. The only problem is the ball winows on the grip, the bottom two windows are useless with the 7 shot mags.

But to address the paint problem, pick up Cryptic. They shoot best IMO.

Just be sure to pick up a few extra mags as well. They are a lifesaver.

I wouldnt complain, I would ask if they are still swapping out the old parts for the newer parts. Im sure if you just emailed/ called them and said you had an older generation they would hook you up.

beside so minor internal changes nothing serious. Also you can always upgrade an original TPX
