Im trying to start a team at my college and they ask for an anticipated annual budgetary request. I realize it is going to vary from college to college but i was just trying to get a feel for a range of some sort. So if you have any numbers you can throw at me that will help id appreciate it. If it's a public school make sure you aim high. More then likely they won't give you what you ask for so if you aim high then you aren't screwed. Its very hard for brand new clubs to get any funding at all. However it's not impossible. Just be prepared to have to pay for a lot of stuff out of pocket.

Realistic cost of a very competitive team is probably somewhere around 10k including practices and 4 events +nationals depending on the size of your team. But yeah, like mace13 said, aim high and they'll probably at least think about giving you a little more than they originally intended.

i think we (miami of ohio) requested something around 20k for the year and received about half that.

Yea it depends on what kind of school it is (state or private) but I agree with everyone else always aim higher cause they will never give you exactly what you ask for. And I would say just in case to have a presentation ready explaining why you need that money breaking it down into specific categories. The more professional the better.

For the 4th or 5th year in a row, SG and Recsports combined give an annual $0.00. Im thinking next year we will be able to buy some nice quality dirt....


But make sure to have a fullproof plan when going to present a budget and why you need funding. Such as representing school, even on national level and whatnot. And like everyone else, aim high
