if you can, consider having the vet come to your house to do the final part, my sister had this done with her dog of 14.5 yrs, less trauma for you of having to drive somewhere even tho it cost more. and more comfortable for pet being at home.

if you dont go to vet, send some of your clothes along with him for scent

yes, also my worst with my last dog too when i held him at the end.

just remember when its all done you talk with some other dog lovers about what happened , how you feel, it helps to get it out i have found.
