nt breaking paint

Ok, i have an nt that keeps breaking paint. It's all barrel breaks no chops and I am shooting good rps premium through it. It's chronoing between 275-285 and I have the spacer body and one spacer in with the blue insert. Any ideas on why it keeps breaking paint?

Why are you using a spacer + body? Remove both and see if its still breaking paint.

Also use a pressure tester and check what you are at.

Check your loader tension and turn it down if possible. This was an issue with my nt at first.

Loader used?

Solutions:
-Turn down hopper tension
-Borrow a freak kit and try matching with a perfect bore size
-remove the spacer body and the spacer
-make sure your reg pressure is at 130-145 or whatever you need it to be but it should be within those numbers
-send the bolt to me and i will mod the bolt and make it better than an NT11 bolt and allow yourself to shoot at 100-105 psi
-make sure you have 1 or 2 orings on your barrel and don't over tighten the barrel
-check your eyepipe for scratches or cracks and if either, replace it

Lmk what you find out.

Make sure your barrel isn't too tight. What bore size are you using? Are you doulbe feeding? If so change your detents I know I was breaking paint and that's what it was. What are your settings? Dwell, PSI, etc....

Ok first thing he is having barrel breaks not chops and why do all of you keep telling people to remove the spacer? I guess most of you know more than the dye techs. If I was you try a different barrel and see if that helps

uhhh cause having all those spacers raises his pressure which leads to more ball breaks?

...and what does spacers have to do with chops?

Well I have a nt 11 and was told by a dye tech that the nt is made to run around 125-130 he also told me to use the green bolt tip and the yellow body spacer and have not had any breaks or chops. Now with the body spacer in that will also reduce the amount of If that is coming out of the bolt because less air is in the chamber is what I was told when I called dye.

I prefer to use the lowest pressure possible....your setup will give you good efficiency but at a higher pressure behind the ball.

Read the second paragraph.

I dont know why they would advertise 110 psi for fragile paint yet tell you the gun runs best at 125-130. oh well

I totally agree with you. But also, he is using the yellow spacer, so he needed more psi. Just thought i would point it out.

yeah thats common sense. If he wasnt using the yellow spacer he'd be shooting 330fps...but that wasnt the point.

For 280-300fps using normal paintballs:
Lowest possible kick, softest on paint, least gas efficient
o Use green bolt tip insert (.350” ID, largest), use no bolt kit chamber insert
o Runs at 110psi for 290-300fps with a .688 barrel. With a Dye Carbon Fiber barrel close to 100psi
o Efficiency roughly about 1200-1300 shots of a 68 / 4500
o Watch out for the pressure getting too low, this will cause the gun not to cycle if orings in bolt are not very good or not well lubed

ran mine just like this last weekend, evil paint and no issues, only a few breaks.

well that is nice I run 130 green bolt tip YELLOW body spacer and I get the same fps you do which means I have the same amount of air hitting the paintball you do and I was shooting redemption gold with no break wow isn't that weird

lower pressure = more volume
higher pressure = less volume

By using the yellow spacer you are using less air per shot.

Point being I was running the setup that DYE advertises as the best for fragile paint. Good for you that you are able to run a different setup. Point being, as I said, its what I ran, not that its the only setup. But hey whatever makes you feel better.
