luxe using a ton of air

I recently installed an EF rod into my luxe. Well I went out to practice last night for the first time with the EF rod and I didnt get any better efficiency. I was shooting about 3 pods and a hopper off 3500 PSI from a 45/45 tank. How can I improve this?

All my settings are stock.

That's great advice from a "local luxe tech".

To the op, change the middle Oring inside of the can. If it leaks your efficiency will get worse.

what he said orings.. and if you are using a smaller tank than a 68 it may also effect the efficiency too

i was getting a rotor and 4 pods off a 48/4500 filled to 3.5k with almost no air left in the tank (stock parts)
i switched to a 68/4500 and a field that fills to 4.5k and can easily get a rotor and at least 6 pods with about 2500psi left (pooty parts)

45/45 is honestly too small of a tank for the luxe. I use a 68/45 and still dont get that great of efficency. But it still works

A 45-45 is all I have ever used on my luxe. With the EFRod I could shoot 6-7 pods. It all comes down to broken in orings and tuning.

Changing orings isnt like changing oil in your car. There is no set schedule or time frame. If you have a leak, or see diminished efficiency, only then would I diagnose the problematic oring and change that oring ONLY.

Orings can last a VERY long time. Example, I have a Dynasty SFT shocker that I bought new in '05. I have never done a complete rebuild of the bolt. Ive probably put 75-100 cases thru it and it still shoots like new.

Words of wisdom.......break your gun in naturally, dont fix it if it isnt broken, dont over-maintain it and you will have ALOT less issues with your marker.

yeah things break when your always tearing your gun apart then trying to correctly put them back together, shoot it til it breaks then ship it to a tech iv had a 1st gen luxe never re lubed or cleaned... never leaked one time

fact is 45/45 shouldnt be getting less than 6 pods, i use a 68/45 and get 9 pods and a rotor with about 300 left sprung and polished.

This has always been my policy with markers, but when I hear that people are shooting 9 pods and a hopper off of a 68/45 it makes me wonder what my markers issue is. At best I might get 6, and that was at HB after I had the DLX guys change all the orings.

NDZ polished/sprung, dwell @ 10 (for those that will ask).

Can you run a stock guide with your ef rod with the NDZ Can and bolt? (I dont have my marker around to check right now)

The EFRod was made for a stock guide, so yes, you can run one with the ndz parts. You won't get the maximum efficiency from it though because of the ndz can adding volume.

Imo, if you have a stock bolt try it instead of the polished bolt and see if your shot count comes up. Polishing is great but any removal of material on parts that don't have exact tolerances, such as the bolt, can cause issues.

i have great results from both the efrod and pooty polished parts honestly both in conjunction with well tuning is the absolute best

pootys bolts springs mods and polishing all helped alot with my luxe as well as the efrod

i get 6 pods and a rotor with air to spare like 300 psi off a 68/45 hot filled to 3.5k can get 8-9 plus rotor but its dependent on paint sizing what the feild limit is 285-300 so many variables

Generally on my 68/45 just filled to 3K I can get a rotor and 5 pods with little air left. Its pretty much stock besides 2.0 core but my orings are properly fitted and I think that is key.

I ran an efficiency test after replacing all my orings on my 2.0 core and can. Got a hopper and 9.5 pods off a 68/45 filled at 4Kish. I do not know if the EF rod will give you a GOD LIKE boost but it should help.

Like Ragin said just break that puppy in and tune it

I've never made crazy claims about the EFRod. On average a user should see about 1.5-2 pods more per 68-4500 fill with properly sealing orings. Those extra balls may mean the difference between a win and a loss.
