Parents make you pay for everything?

Do your parents make you pay for everything? I feel like im kinda getting the short end of the stick, so to speak, whenever my parent make me pay for everything, from guns to paintball to gas for the car to get to the fields/stores. Anybody else have these problems/advice to overcome this?

be thankful you are being taught the value of a dollar.

Short end of the stick? You sound like you feel you have a right to play paintball and your parents have to pay for it. Be thankful you are allowed to play at all.

You should be able to meet them in the middle on everything. Kids shouldnt get a free ride, however, if you were going to summer camp, football camp, basketball camp, would they pay for that?
Paintball isnt a cheap sport. My kid works alot of hours at a local paintball field, and makes good money. He pays for all of his own guns and gear. But when he plays, I buy a case of paint for him, and I pay for all tournaments and Scenarios we play in together.

The whole paying for gas thing? Thats just bad parenting, LOL.

I'd recommend getting a summer job. If you aren't 16 yet, mow lawns for extra cash. If you live in an area with a lot of old people, you could have a steady flow of cash all summer long.

How do you make the money for it in the first place? An allowance still counts as your parents paying for you.

I make money by mowing lawns like you said, and the best my parents have done is bought me a case of paint on my birthday, other than that I pay for EVERYTHING, and yes, my parents would pay for a sports camp, because they think it would be "stimulating" to be with other kids my age, and I think I do have the right to play paintball, I didn't say my parents have to pay for everything, just help out a little bit, the main problem is that they just pretend like it doesn't exist, whenever I go to the field, they don't even sit there and watch, they leave and hope I don't get hurt.

This.

I'm a very athletic person and played many types of travel sports. It's not much different then any other travel sport like AAU Basketball or Baseball. My parents help out, but I pay for my **** as well.

Yes. My parents do make me pay for everything.
Be grateful for whatever your parents give you towards paintball, and if not- then well, hustle crack on the streets or something.
I hear that's a great way to get money fast

Welcome to adolescence. Your parents have their own lives that they want to live, and won't be babysitting you all the time. Plus, you can't blame them for not wanting to watch. Paintball is one of the more boring and confusing sports to watch if you don't play.

I got him the basics to get started, if he wants better stuff he needs to buy it. I will buy him one case of paint per month to play. which is about the same as I would pay for hockey etc.

My eldest son (15yrs) paid for his gun and barrell etc (about $800 australian) he works parttime and gets 40 bucks a fourtnight pocketmoney, I pay for our club membership ,senerio days, trainning etc. Now his younger brother wants to play (has aspergers (autism)) and I think it will be a great social thing so im paying for him, which his older brother thinks is unfair but he also forgets i pay for new computers/videogames and internet connection which he uses most of all. On a side note, for getting them out of the house and exposing them to some good "role models" paintball has been second to none, very friendly guys who are willing to help them with setups/gear/advice and camping out senerios beat a weekend infrontof the screen hands down, dont underestimate the benefits for your kids in building some self esteem with this sport (and where else can i legally shoot my kids...)

I'm 16, I pay for everything out of my own pocket by making websites and such.

It's a pain, yeah because all of your friends have everything handed to them. But you know what, in the end its rewarding and your more likely to stick to the sport if you pay for it yourself, other than be careless and toss away your gun in 2 months if your parents bought it for you.
