Some seniors, been doing the senior model thing lately, it is intense...hopefully they bring in a lot of referrals, shooting a lot of free senior portraits is scary.

That looks like a sweet *** swimmin spot. Super jealous.

I'm diggin the recent shots as well. Those senior shots being free blows my mind, but you do what you gotta do.

That rolling down the hill one, how many times did you try to get it?

Thanks! Yeah that place is sweet. And we tried it like 20+ times or so. Well the seniors are free, but they are "senior models" and they are under contract to bring in referrals. They get discounts on their prints as well as print credit and a chance to win an ipad. Here is the info

Thanks for your interest, here is the info, hope you make yourself a great week! Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jimmy Hickey Photography Class of 2012 Senior Representatives

I am looking for fun and energetic seniors interested in becoming Jimmy Hickey Photography Class of 2012 senior representatives! One boy and one girl from each local high school has this chance to earn a free photo session, photos and prints!

If you want to apply you must:

* be excited about getting your senior photos done
* be in the graduating class of 2012
* live and attend school in the greater Portland area
* Respond to this email stating why you want to be a representative and why I should chose you out of the masses
* agree to tell your friends and classmates about Jimmy Hickey Photography and share your portraits with them
* be motivated to bring in referrals to JHP
* represent JHP thru out your senior year
* sign a model release form
* most importantly, be ready to create some strong, unique senior photos with me, photographic gold!

As a part of our senior rep program, you will receive

* free on location photo session ($300 value)
* the opportunity to earn print credit for every person you refer to JHP for senior portraits (your friends get perks too!)
* 50 personalized referral cards to give to friends and classmates with your name, your portraits and our business information (more given if needed)
* several low resolution, (but high quality) images to share on social networking sites like facebook, myspace or blogs
* discounts on your print order
* gallery party
* the person with the most referrals over 5 wins an Apple i-pad!

Referral Discounts
1-3 Referrals – 10% off print order and 25 print credits per referral
4-6 Referrals –10% off print order and 35 print credits per referral
7-9 Referrals –10% off print order and 45 print credits per referral
10-12 Referrals – 25% off print order and 60 print credits per referral
13+ Referrals – 35% off print order and 70 print credits per referral

After your fourth referral you are entitled to a second free photoshoot.

Facebook referral- earn 1 print credit for every 2 friends who like www.facebook.com/jimmyhickeyphotography

(Print credits are used to purchase prints, prints are valued in print credit. You will always have the option to pay cash for prints as well.)

When your referrals book a paid session and bring in your Rep Card you will receive the above mentioned discounts according to the amount of referrals you bring to us. These referrals can include anyone who books the following sessions: Senior, Newborn, Family Portraits, Portraits, etc.

You will receive your Rep Cards within 2 weeks of the shoot and can order more if you run out (and have at least 1 referral). The cards will contain a sample of the best photos we have created, as well as my business information such as website, address and phone number, as well as the discount information listed below.

If accepted, you will be representing Jimmy Hickey Photography and telling your friends about our Senior Sessions throughout your senior year. Be sure to let your junior friends know also, so they will have a chance to apply for the 2012 program.
The classmate(s) must present a referral card in order to be eligible. All referred classmates will receive 10% off their session and 16 free wallet prints with a valid referral card. Your participation in the program will not only introduce you to a new way for cutting edge, personalized photography, some of the strongest portraiture in the Portland area, but also a way to earn incentives toward your session for senior portraits at little or no cost.

The gallery party will be an event hosted for the senior portrait representatives at my studio location in South Portland or my studio in the Pearl District. The party will showcase the portraits we have created in large format, as well as show samples of other work and prints. Good times shall be had, trust me! Representatives are asked to attend and bring at least 5 friends to the party. For each friend in attendance, the representative will earn an raffle ticket, the grand prize will be a photo book (valued at $700!), multiple large prints (valued at $100+), print credit, and more, announced at a later date. Each attendee will also earn a ticket in a separate drawing for a free photoshoot and prints. There will be free food and drink galore, so come hungry! There will also be a special signing deal for anyone who attends and schedules their senior shoot at the party.

Terms and conditions are listed below for all Senior Portrait Representatives. The session must be completed before the 2012 school year. Parents or legal guardians of the Senior Rep must sign a model release, allowing us to use your images for advertising purposes. A valid Senior Portrait Rep Referral Card must be presented by a referred student in order to receive any credits toward prints. Credits will only be issued when a referred senior’s session is complete and all fees are paid in a timely manner by the referred senior. The program is first come, first serve, so act fast if you want a spot.

Thanks for your interest, I look forward to working with you to create some strong senior photos!

Looks like he just rolled beside her and shot it like you'd shoot a pan, I'm guessing it took a few tries. I can't see the exif but I'm guessing it was shot around 1/60-1/80.

he already said it took 20+ tries, so yeah...

I imagine it would be extremely difficult to keep her face in the same spot in the frame while rolling down a hill. lol

I was just spinning the camera as she spun. Shot at 1/100th I think. Held it upside down and used the vertical grip and turned it clockwise with her spinning body. Shot on AI servo, which was tough since the 1ds is pretty slow at focusing on this. Tough as heck to get right but worth it.

Never heard of winching before, good alternative if you don't have a boat or a body of water large enough for one I suppose. Dope stuff as usual Jimmy, I see your updates in my feed on fb all the time haha

I'm think 1,4,7

But I freakin love 2 because he is longboarding on a cliffs edge, and 6 cus it's my pretty girly, and sex sells...but at the same time, 1 is a bit more dynamic of a portrait over 6, but 6 has more beauty....ayyyyeeeeee

I just love her eyes in that photo, I chose 7 because to me it shows a lot of action and intensity while 2 is more still, if I was involved in the long boarding scene I might have chosen 2, though.

I like 1, 4, then 6 or 7.

But any combo of the photos you took will be great. Goodluck.

All I have to say is that your stuff nails it.
I'm surprised that you say you have trouble getting work.
Seriously, I've paid photographers more than you charge and got crappy photos.

It's not that I have trouble getting work, it's that I'm trying some new marketing techniques that will hopefully bring in a lot more clients in the long run. I have a steady flow, but not at the level I want.

And nice to see you're shooting a viking
