As much as anything it means that you have no leaks anywhere, which as long as it isn't at the expense of smoothness and having bolt stick, is a good thing!

Basically, a reg acts as a one way valve, trapping air inside the marker. Even once the bottle is disconnected and the hose degassed, if the pressure in the marker doesn't drop, the reg mechanism will remain closed.

Really, once the pressure in the marker rises to the set pressure of the reg, the reg mechanism shuts off to prevent any more air entering the marker, so that the pressure doesn't change - that's how a regulator works, by being a pressure controlled valve.

However, this also means that with the vast majority of regulators (the Planet S3 and SL3 are the obvious exceptions, as they have a self purging feature), the marker will not degas when the bottle is degassed, because as long as the pressure inside the marker remains at the set pressure of the reg, the reg mechism is closed, and the air in the marker cannot escape. The pressure in the marker has to drop - normally due to small leaks - before the reg mechanism can then open, and the rest of the air escape.

While full pressure is being held in the marker, the bolt would stay back.

How longs should springs last? Today was my first practice with the rhino spring, it was great. Shot ropes all day and I noticed to get a couple more pods off of it. Only thing was in the beggining of the day I would shoot thins the spring would "catch" and not fire, so I tried the other spring and it worked perfect.

never herd rhino springs failing over time. as for binding in the beginning could be from incorrect bore size on the bolt

Hmmmm..... not sure. I just replaced my first prototype spring this year. So, about 3 years of constant abuse! Suppose they last??

Catching, it MIGHT catch or "bind" on the back of the bolt guide. SP bolt guides and aftermarket bolt guides are notorious for having different OD dimensions! A little light sanding of the BACK of the bolt guide is all that is needed usually...

Did you just use sandpaper or what strange? Your spring just slides on smooth?

or if your bolt has the correct counterbore it should work as well.

Some bolt guides just suck. The bolt you did hung up on my hybrid guide until I sanded it down, it seemed to have a much larger lip than stock.

yeah, the hybrid guides are larger than stock. I though i had sized the counterbore to account for them as well, but I guess it's still not large enough to fit the differences in tolerances for them.

Man, mine should be great. I was at the field tuning up on Sunday and boy was it annoying to have bolt stick. Even with my ABS turned up on the T-board and my dwell higher than I'd like. Puff Puff Puff, shooooot, puff puff puff. Anyway, once it did you shoot, it shot some pretty good ropes. Can't wait to get my new reg in and finish it up/minus my new frame.

Sprung HE bolt over here.
