Torque practice 4/9/11

So far this is the confirmed team list for practice:

Torque
120
NWA
U of A

I know at least 3 individuals are going to come, so if anyone needs an extra player or wants to team up with them, just let me know. Fresh Valken paint has been ordered and is scheduled to be here on Wednesday.

Just as a reminder, paint is 40/case and 10/person for air/field fee.

Practice will officially start at 9am (but we will start earlier if teams are available) and will last until everyone quits or we run out of paint.

If any other teams want to come, you need to confirm with me that you will be there. If you do not, I will not guarantee that you will have paint available to buy. Confirmed teams have priority.

Edit: I love you all.

Do you really need to coach in a practice? Does your coach need to practice his yelling or does he need practice telling who his team is? I honestly dont care as long as the two teams playing are in agreement.

Legacy has been invited. I believe they are still weighing their options. Hopefully they will come out and join the rest of the arkansas teams and have some fun.

My guys suck at being coached. They don't know how to hear the coach and keep their eyes down field.

I want to clarify a few things about the practices we will be holding.

1.They are meant to be a way for Arkansas paintballers to get together and grow our community in the state. A decade ago, the Arkansas tournament community was a much tighter group than we are now. I, and others, think it is time we get back to that.

I am not saying we all liked each other and would have giant sleep overs together. I am saying that in spite of our differences, we practiced together, we were all welcome at each other's fields, and we all competed against each other for the love of the sport.

To all the teams that are coming out, please, come out with the mindset of respect for your fellow player. Respect them because they showed up. Respect them because they love the sport. Respect them because, just like you, they want to be better at our sport. It doesn't matter if a team shows up and sucks so bad their mother won't claim them, respect them for having the balls to strap on their gear and play.

2. They are practices, not tournaments. Don't cheat yourself and your team by cheating in a practice. It only makes other teams angry and serves only to weaken your game. We all want to have teams to practice against. Don't ruin the opportunities we have by straining those relationships for something as infantile as cheating during a practice.

3. We need to make the most of the time we have available. The practice schedule will be run as a race to 2 between two teams, with other players reffing. Then, two other teams will rotate in a do the same. So, bring extra pods onto the field with you to refill between points.

4. Please thank Rusty at Splat Action while you are there for letting us use his excellent field for practice.

5. Please, if you enjoy yourself, make plans to come back. This is strictly an effort by my team to have fun on a good field with good competition. We are putting up all the money and time to make it happen. Things will not be perfect, but they will be the best we can make them.

6. Leave it all on the field. I don't care if Jonpon and Plastic from JL get in a fist fight over who didn't cover what lane, but leave it on the field. Don't bring it back here to the internet. It is pointless and does nothing to further our sport.

I just want to say thank you to the teams who have said they are going to show up. We will be playing rain or shine. The number of teams we have coming is awesome for a first practice. The next, we should be able to add a couple more with the Untouchables being able to come (screw that guys wedding), and maybe Legacy will be able to make it.

Anyway, like each other or not, let's do what we can to be able to show up and shoot at each other on a consistent basis. I love you all.

Thanks for putting this together, Clay. I love you too. (No homo)

Is there any chance of putting one of these on for a Sunday? Maybe that would open up the possibility for some more/other teams to make it out.

Sundays hurt brosef. God is more important to paintball to me, so it's hard to get anything started before 1 or so on a Sunday.

And btw, I am a graduate of UALR. If I were to enter my Master's program, would I be able to join the UALR team?
