We are new great dane family. First we picked up Bella when she was 12 weeks old. (she is 6 months now) and then last weekend we adopted Emma (she is 8 months) and they make great friends. We are just now realizing how big they really are getting. Will post up more pics soon.

<3 great danes when I see them at the park, which isn't very often. One time there was one that weighed 160 pounds, and stood up on a tree looking for a squirrel. Its a good thing they're gentle giants.

I was just about to post a thread for danes. I'm getting one in July/August. I am so excited.

I frequently hit the dog beach with Titan's (previously the tallest dane in the world) owner. Sadly he has passed, but her two current danes are gorgeous. Absolutely amazing dogs, both deaf too!

that herlequin is pretty! i used to take my mastiff (african boerboel) to play with a big herlequin dane at the dog park all the time..those two were like the dog park bouncers but they would only play with eachother. hilarious to watch two giant dogs toss eachother around (playing) and knocking spectators over. neither one of us goes to the dog park anymore. just too many fights break out. the dane was super submissive so she got beat up a few times

That's a bummer. My little mutt pup plays with danes most of all. That's one of the main reasons I chose to get one.

danes are super sweet but some are kind of submissive and skiddish. just a mastiff thing, and then the occasional mean ones. i dont think danes are as dog aggressive?, but a lot of mastiffs once they are mature dont like other dogs. i think it's a dominance thing. my boerboel is real dog aggressive but she wasn't until she turned 3 or 4 ish. she was super socialized all the time too. ive read lots of places they wont accept new dogs into the home very easily once they are mature. havent had a dane ever i dont think they fit the mastiff blueprint quite like most of the molosser dogs.

Lol great dane puppies have such huge feet. Great Dane is on my list of dogs I want to own some day.
