Paintball Commentators

Been watching most the day, skipped a few classes to watch the earlier games. Anyway, it may just be me, but after Chris Lasoya is done with his playing career, I think he and Matty Marshall would make a great duo in the commentator booth. Mr. Marshall always does a great job, after listening to the other guys that popped in out through out the day I really enjoy listening to Chris and Matty. Anyone else think the same?

After just hearing Archie's session, he was one of the few who actually talked about the more intricate side of things by mentioning dropping shots over bunkers and playing known dead areas behind bunkers. Aside from that though, Lasoya is a favorite. Definitely more lively than some of the others.

Time for Ollie. Woo.

I agree with both, it was an awesome broad cast and the camera angles were even better. Great job all around.

I thought they did an awesome job as well. It would be nice if they brought up more about how the game is played and the detail of it for those watching that dont understand but overall well done.
ESPN has had great camera angles, the boom by the snake.....HEAVEN!

Funny, I was talking to Jerry from Chicago Legend, and in his last game he said the boom camera scared him and was right in his face when he was shooting. Great coverage though. Props to NPPL and ESPN along with their crew!

from the looks of it sometimes it looks like its right there. I am waiting for someone to stand up and hit it. Dont know if it gets that close or not but it looks that way.

It would be funny if they shot it think it was a player too.

while i feel it is great that paintball is on espn i just feel that it misses way to many exciting moments, granted it is still way better than before and it will eventually get there i hope it does soon.

i also wish they had more cameras on the dorito side i know alot of action goes on in the snake but still it would be nice to switch it up a little

problem with this is that if the camera is actually physically on the d-side, then the teams have switched sides of the field from the viewers perspective, so it can get confusing for people that dont know jerseys (or if the jerseys are similar) which team is on which side

exactly why every other sport keeps the majority of their cameras on one side

Lol I want to know who was controlling the "titles" for each player as they commentated with Marshall.

One of my favorites was.

Matty Marshall "2 Time world champion" vs. Scuba Steve Rabackoff "Retired player" LOL. Well I suppose when you walk away you can't take all of the titles with you-wait..Marshall aren't you retired?

I think Mr. announcer is sticking his hand in the title jar.

Chris- Thx for the awesome weekend! Family loves u fer sure.. (its Rick btw)

Matty will always be the favorite along with Nicky Truter, Its also good to know our pro's can step up and not only talk about paintball on the field, but help promote the game off the field. These guys put up with the crowd, fans, people that didnt know about the game and unselfishly gave their time to teach an adult or kid about the bunkers, rate of fire etc. I respect these guys for sure. I played against most of these guys and they know me on and off. But seeing them at work off the field amazes me that there is still good people in the game. Much love to Ollie for keeping his fans happy and having a smile thru those questions of WHY WHY WHY.. and Lasoya definitely for playing with the kids out in the vendor area and taking numerous pics..Way to make my bro jealous =) Bob Long for not being mad with me haha inside stuff. Tyler Harmon i swear is the happiest guy out of the bunch, great guy. and who can forget T$!! always fun to be around!

But what I wanna say really is.. Thanks to these guys for stepping up and making the game fun to watch and play. Now maybe the game can blow up the way its supposed to. Get people involved,. Go play recball again and let them see how the game evolves from woods to tourny and back again..

Add a little bit of Mr. Todd Martinez for a color commentator.

After watching all weekend. The best commentators for sure were Matty, Chris Lasoya and Todd Martinez.

I really wanted to see Matty's "title" be The Voice of Paintball.

The only feedback I can give on the commentary is to have more scripted talk between games and make sure the volume of the commentators is similar. Matty was much louder than the others during the commentary, and the field sounds were drowned out a bit too much. I like hearing the on-field sounds during the game.

Just my .02

Good job with the e-cast beyond that.
