I checked the auction and it is in fact a 360 QEV that I believe was made for an Ion but works for the other models.

The only problem I see here is that it lacks the snap rings to secure the board. The way you have it set up right now the board is free to move around which can change the trigger engagement point or POSSIBLY (probably not likely though) ground the switch pins to the firing can. Looks like stacking some O-rings on the lower barrel of the banjo to shim the board up and away from the can would work though... Nice to know for when I eventually get around to putting my SP1 back together...

I plan on putting some electrical tape around there for the shorting issue. As per the board moving around I don't see that as an issue but again if it is I'm sure some well place tape should fix it. I'll be testing it out this week so I'll keep everyone updated.

Updates? - Leak free? - Board slide/move around?
Thanks!

Ok, so I got it installed and did have just a couple issues. There was some space issues and I had to dremel out just a small about of plastic from the inside of the grip but not a big deal at all, took all of 5 minutes and then it fit fine.
The other issue is that the QEV is actually shorter than the stock banjo fittings and the reciever adds a maybe a cm or less to the space between the board and the tube so when you screw it in it actually bends the board down a bit.
When aired up first, there was some leaking from that spot so I was a bit worried. However, I did put some greese on the threads and after several shots the leak stopped and has remained sealed. I've shot almost an entire 68/4500 through it with no leaks now.
However here are the other things I've noticed. When working with the board, if I have it set to ramping or Full Auto, I have to set the dwell to about 16 in order to get it to cycle corectly. Problem is, if I set it back to normal semi, it will not fire correctly until I change the dwell again. I have a feeling however that this is a normal issue with the virtue board so I'm not sure if its a QEV problem.
Now, the results? To be honest, I have not really seen a huge jump in speed or preformance, if any really. It's shooting faster than 25, I can tell that from changing the global BPS BUT, I'm pretty sure it was fireing at that BEFORE I installed the QEV so, other than less pressure on the noid, I'm not sure what the benefit is here. Honestly the ramping is SO fast that I'm sure the Ref's at my field will be able to tell and have me take it down to normal semi anyhow.
So, I think I may put the banjo back in and run a few tests and then make my decision from there if I want to keep the QEV. So basicly the conculsion at this point is Yes it can be done but qestionable as to any benefit.

Although the benefit may not produce a performance gain per say, it does benefit the solenoids longevity by blowing off excess pressure on the return, which is the main purpose for installing the QEV in the 1st place. Performance gains such as lower operating pressures and faster cycling are by products of the upgrade.
