Dm4/5 or C body CAD?

Anyone have one? I have a damaged body and I'd like to experiment with a fiends CNC, and experience a bit on how to operate it so I came to you guys to help my find this. If anyone knows of one that was made and public that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Btw no external milling is needed in the CAD only the internal airways and threads.

Have you tried emailing Dye and asking for it?

I know the designs and stuff are patented/copyrighted or whatever and they don't want people to steal it or anything, but it's old enough they might just give you the CAD files.

Doubt you're gonna be able to get anything you need from dye. While they are a great company they also have to protect their investments so don't blame them if you get no response. Try getting a hold of the gentleman from zdspb.com. He has several dm renderings in his collection and he is very proficient in solidworks/inventor. I figure he'd be the best person to ask.

good luck finding one, you're likely going to have to reverse engineer it..

i wanted to mill one myself aswell but, after a few hours trying to figure out how deep the body air passages were i gave up.

i also had trouble figuring out how i could mill around the breech without hitting the eye wire passage.

what i did with my dm4 some years ago, i milled the top tube, using the G19 (i think) which changes the axis and i did a circle interpolate step over loop program, and used a 1/2" 2flt carbide ball nose endmill. search around im sure my dm4 project is still on here.

it came out okay, but the breech area still looked rough.

I made one up for a DM7. I can do a DM4/5/c if I had a body on hand.

My point was pick one and I'll go buy one. Then, when I have the body I'll draft one up for you.

They all have slightly different placing of the inner tubes (Hpr and LPR)
The DM4 have longer tubes, and slightly different placing of the solenoid.
The DM5/C are quite similar, but the DMC there`s not much to mill, since Dye did that from factory to add the composite.

That`s why he`s asking you to choose a body, so he can give you what you are asking for.
I`d say go for a Dm5, more to mill and lower profile. I`ll beat you up if you a mill a DMC body, lol!

I know this. But if I was supplied a dm4 cad I would if just modified the differences. I only want the dm5/c inner dems and sizes of the inside walls, and threads. The outside will be done by me. I absolutely hate the way the dmc looks so no copying that milling of the composite!
